Top Knot Problem OK my Allie has a beautiful Top Knot, BUT most of the time it wants to hang to the side and when she eat's it almost always get's in her food bowl. I have tried many differnt things to keep this from happening. IS there anything I can possiby do without havig to trim her Top Knot shorter where it won't hang in her food dish? |
I've seen them folded over with the last loop of the elastic holding it in place. The topknot looks like a loop instead of a loose ponytail. |
I put a big barrette on Mocha's forehead so when the hair folds over, the bow stops it. |
I have done the loop thing also but recently cut Roxie's a little shorter and it helped. |
Have the same issue with Kyra. |
I hate it! Luma is the same. I actually have to turn it to the side otherwise it tends to fall forward in her face. Better off to the side than hanging over her eyes, but I do the loop thing 99% of the time and prefer it like that. I also sometimes twist it and wrap it around itself, then put a scrunchie over it so she has a little bun. |
Teddy always has the side tassel. I think it is his security blanket and thankfully it doesn't get in his mouth. For Max, I put a second band in farther back on his head to hold the topknot back. |
Try putting the top knot further back closer to the back of the neck so it flows behind the ears |
Have you tried pig tails? Maybe they would lie to the sides. |
I tried the pigtails....Kyra has one in each eye with them :p I finally broke down and cut an inch off her topnot but now I have to make sure none of the longer hairs are in it when i put it up. |
Have you tried braiding her topknot? I have to do this on Jada. Her topknot hair is almost to her little butt when I comb her out. I have kept it in a braid for almost 2 years now and that seems to work for us. |
I recently cut about an inch off of Gracie's topknot. The ninja-knot worked for a while but when they get a lot of length the weight is enough for gravity to take over. I do braid the back part of the hair on her head so that it stays in place. |
1 Attachment(s) I also tie twice, first a top knot then pull more hair in the back and tie together with the first top knot. That's better than just doing one knot towards the back, which leaves all these loose hair on the face. Finally, I put a bow on the forehead to stop hair from falling forward. As you can see from the picture, the bow/barrette works to keep the hair back. |

3 Attachment(s) I wish I could do a topknot on Huey, but the path of least resistance is a visor cut to keep the long hair out of his eyes. It is a fight to get the topknot because the top of his head seems much more fine and cottony and tangles easily and combing it out daily? Not gonna happen if I'm gonna keep all my fingers! |
