Big Scares? Yoda sometimes just wants to give us heart attacks, I'm sure of it! Last week, he JUMPED out of the car. The car was parked, but the window was open. He was so excited to see his aunt and cousin that he leapt from Mommy's lap, out the window and onto the grass. It's definitely the most fearless thing he's done! I think Yoda wants to try out for the Yorkie Extreme Games or something! A year ago, while we were just chillin' outside, Yoda snuck away, through the bushes/trees out onto the street! Luckily, there was no cars around, but the little sneak sometimes does not know danger! I'm sure your little Yorkies have all done similar acts? |
Oh yeah. Higgins usually manages to give us at least one big fright every day. It is absolutely AMAZING how that dog can FLY off things and not get hurt....... |
They are sooo unpredictible!! Fortunately almost every time Toto has "lept" she has landed on the bed or the sofa! We still won't let children hold Toto unless they are sitting flat on the floor!! Our five year old grandson, Austin, said the other day "Nonnie, is Toto big enough for us to hold now"? I said, "Yes, Toto is big enough, but you are not"!! ;) He totally understands .... he is amazed at how tiny her little bones are!! We may be overprotective but we just can't help ourselves!! :p BTW ... I was also that way with the children when they were young!! :D |
Reminds me of the time my cat-person friend came over. Picked up Yoda, and Yoda SQUIRMED out of his hands and fell! About 3-4 feet too. Needless to say, he's not allowed to pick up Yoda any more, neither are most people. We can count on one hand who is allowed to pick him up! Their bones are very, very small and fragile! What your grandsons can do is sit on the floor, and let Toto be on the couch. They can sort of cradle him when Toto is on the couch, and it's sort of similar to holding him, without all the dangers. :) |

Well, confession time is here: The first week we owned 24 ounce Higgins, I tripped and dropped him on him head. And THEN, as if that wasn't scary enough, I SAT on him for about 30 seconds before I realized I WAS sitting on him! I weigh 240 pounds. HE LIVED! HE WASN'T HURT! But I was scared @#$less!!!!! God loves little Yorkies. |

Puppy kisses!! |
Wow Higgin's Mom! Higgins was meant to be yours, eh? :) That is quite a scare. I've kicked him accidentally when not seeing he was in front of me several times, I've opened the door to hard and heard the THUD of his forehead, and I've stepped on him a few times when I didn't see he was lying there. They are really tough lil' guys to be able to put up with me and you! :P |

Funny, cuz dancing is actually one of the ways I exercise. :) I have gotten a lot better, most of that happened in the first few months. I'm ultra careful when opening doors or walking around when I don't know where the little booger is. |

One of the most dangerous things Otis has ever done was climb over the babygate. He was less than a year old. I caught him IN THE ACT, the two front paws was over on one side, and the bottom paws were dangling on the opposite side. He was just hanging there stuck, and all afraid. I actually started laughing because it looked so damn funny. Anyway, he got yelled at big time, and he's never done it since. |

I guess since Yorkies are the same size as cats, people automatically think they can treat them the same. |
Wow, I would kick anyone's ass if they threw Yoda up in the air! Geez! Insane! I wouldn't even dare to throw someone's cat or baby up in the air either. Just seems wrong, unless you get permission to do so. |
