Regular or Honey Nut??
 
I have read that some people give their yorkies Cheerios as a treat. I was wondering if you give regular or honey nut? Can these be given to puppies??

i'd say regular. Stay away from the nuts. However, i have seen post were some give the honey ones.

I know lots of people give the honey ones, but I never wanted Joey to develop a sweet tooth, he LOVED the plain ones and I didn't feel guilty about ruining his appetite for healthier food. I think if you give people food, give the healthiest version possible. These are great when they pee in the right place, or during and after grooming.

I was wondering about the honey flavored ones too. I think I'll stick with my first plan, to give the regular ones. I actually thought of bringing a couple with when we pick Sophie up. want to make a good impression on her and all!! LOL

LOL, sounds like you are trying to bribe her into loving you! Seriously, I know she's still young, so you need to be extra careful about car rides. Some puppies get car sick, and it's best not to feed them right before car travel, once they get sick, I think it sets up for a bad experience next time.

Mine actually prefer the plain vs the honey nut. I feel better giving them plain anyway. It's so great when things work out like that :)

I have always given the honey nut Cheereios....accidently got the regular ones and they would give them a second thought! And there is enough sweetness if you have a youngster that needs a little extra sugar to stave off hypoglycemia!.....not talking about using them as a meal!

Thanks Nancy. I appreciate the advice. I certainly don't want her to get sick on her very first car ride (coming home), or any time. This is something I hadn't thought of.:)

Charlie like caramel rice cakes, I buy the small ones and when i eat them i give him just a small piece of the one I am eating he loves them, Ive never tried cheerios.

Mine get honey nut...that's what I eat. I ran out of the plain Cheerios and DH gave them some of the honey nut and they haven't touched the plain ones since. They don't get many and they don't get them often. It's fun to see them quickly get back into sit mode for the next one.

I've actually never used either. Umm, until tomorrow. You all just added HN Cheerios to my grocery list :p
