the yorkie takeover Last night I was lying in my bed.. just thinking how I sleep on one little itty bitty corner of the bed.. while the furbutts and the hubby have the entire bed...I realize that these little babies have changed my life forever....I gave up half of my bed for them.. I come home from work and dedicate all my time to them...Im greeted with lots of licks and wet nose kisses...when i lay on the bed for naptime they lay with me.. only they bark and demand that I rub their bellies constantly and when I stop they make sounds like as if they could talk they would say "mom don't you dare stop ".... they scratch and scratch with all their might at my legs until I let them under the covers... I'm being taken over by my two furbutts.... and I would'nt have it any other way...I love love love those little babies with all my heart... would do anything for them... go to the moon and back... as long as they are happy and loved by me... anyone who has a similar story to share feel free... would love to see if I'm in the same boat..;):D |

Oh, yes. Same here, just with one furbutt. If I come to bed after hubby is asleep, he will say IN HIS SLEEP "where's Huey, be careful"...like my 1st thought isn't "don't sqoosh the dog"...:sidesplt: even now, the furbutt is vying for my attention and dropping toys on the computer... |

I agree 1000%, yes, that's one thousand! Coco is my first dog ever. If I'd only knew earlier how the love of a dog could change me - I would have always had one. Yes, she takes up a king-sized bed. Yes, we all go to bed at 10p because her highness barks us too. And yet, when she's laying in bed, on her back with all love and trust glowing in her eyes and her floppy eyes fallen back, that's a precious moment for me and I know I'm better with her than without. And yes, we all refer to her as "the baby." She's very much loved! |

Ditto ditto ditto...except full size bed two yorkies a husky and two cats find their spots first! |

I can't tell you how many times I wake up with a back ache because I have to sleep in some awkward position with a 68 lb lap dog and a Yorkie who owns the place. hehe |

I guess I am lucky, Guinness does not take up ANY of the bed!!! Why??? Because he has to sleep on top of me :p |

Ha!!! Makes me think about just last night... Mack is an angel. He has "his" pillow that sits right in between my hubby and my pillows... He politely crawls into bed every night, curls up tight on his pillow and promptly falls asleep. Bevo on the other hand, decides which armpit he wants to crawl under a few times... Then maybe between my knees is more comfortable, or maybe above my head... No, under my armpit... Oh wait, got to have his huge loofa toy that he can't sleep without... So when he finally falls asleep, I freeze... Don't breath, don't move and inch... Last night, I was literally hanging off the bed! What's worse?? I would never have put up with that with my skin kids.. Yep, they wrap us tight around their tiny paws!!! |

hehe- I'm glad I'm not the only one. We recently upgraded from a queen size to king size matress and I honestly dont remember how we all fit on the smaller bed. Chibi likes to go to sleep in my armpit (after licking my arm 105 times) then moves to my feet in the middle of the night and Molli litterly sleeps under my pillow, sometimes on top. Some times I wake up and i just see fluffy furr! If we ever get another dog we may need to get a bed extension :D :yorkiesar |

I  this thread! My babies have been one of the brightest lights in my life! I have 9 grandkids but my yorkies own me! They get their breakfast before I do! They go almost everywhere with us, including vacations! I refuse to go anywhere that they are not welcome. Teeka and Max sleep with us. Teeka curls up in the curve of my arm to sleep. Sometimes during the night she might get cold, then she will awake me to kisses on the face to let her under the blankets! She paws at my legs until I pick her up! I shop for my yorkies more than I shop for myself! My daughter says, Teeka has more clothes than her! In the evening when we watch TV, I lay on the couch and she has to lay on my chest with a blanket for warmth. She is such a cuddlebug! People that don't have a yorkie don't understand how they weave their little paws around your heart and are their forever! |

My Tibbe is the same way. He INSISTS on sleeping on the pillow by my head, usually with his butt in my very face, as I usually sleep on my side. Sometimes, when he wants to be sweet, he turns and puts his face to my face but more often, it is the end with the tail on it that is placed somewhere around my eye or nose level and then he lets out the biggest sigh after he gets himself fixed in place. And there he stays. But he changes his sleeping place during the night and moves about and I'll find him in different places if I wake in the night and then he sometimes gets back on the pillow because I wake to first see a Yorkie butt right there in front of my eyes. Couldn't wake to a cuter sight! In warm weather, a dog sleeping in your face is not that great but he insists and I want him happy so I will lie there hot rather than move him. And boy, do I love this little boy! He's such a little toot and such a mess but he's worked his way into my heart so much that he's become my best friend and my world. I couldn't get through a day without him in it. |

Mina starts out on her blanket, inbetween our pillows, then she moves to my armpit. At some point during the night she cuddles up to Daddys back and makes him move over so she can sleep in his warm spot. Then back to Mommie,so she will scoot over. By morning I am hanging off one side,DH is hanging off the other and Mina is in the middle with plenty of room and there is only ONE of her. |

OH gosh, my hubby would say what you said about the bed, it's taken over by me and my 2 furbutts! LOL My boys are my heart and soul. I'd do anything for them no matter what. They are so protected, loved, secure, warm and taken care of. Even when I'm hot I always put a blanket over my legs so they can go under and lay between my legs. LOL Sometimes when I get home from work and my husband beat me by 2 mins and has taken the dogs out so they don't greet me at the door Im momentarily disappointed to not have 2 super happy, wiggly furballs greeting me with kisses and wags, Dexter even will just whine while I'm greeting him because he's just so happy to see me. |
