Hibernating? 3 Attachment(s) LOL Does your baby "hibernate" when it's cold out or at least colder than what there used to? It's been colder than usual and Joel has been in his "hibernating mode" for a couple days and he doesn't even want to go on any walks(thank goodness lol) He's been sleeping alot and sitting on the babies lap more, yawning all day and when he is up he looks a mess like in the 3rd pic, hehe ofcourse I don't blame him! |
Joel sitting on the baby is hilarious. Baby looks like he's not quite sure what to do with this dog that is almost as big as him! |
If Joel is cold, get him a sweater or little coat. My Yorkies get a sweater on if our weather is chilly out here in San Diego. Perhaps he is cold. He is the cutest and should not be hibernating, just needs to stay warm to stay active. |
My Coco hasn't wanted to play in the mornings like we always do. She will either curl up in her bed, which is by a heater so she gets nice warmth or she'll "ask" to back to bed with Daddy and she'll cuddle with him as long as possible. She wears a sweater during the day. |
The picture of both your babies is adorable! |
Oh my gosh, look at that tongue! hehe As for cold...wouldn't know. We haven't even said a passing "hello" to winter here in Alabama. It's so hot out there right now..expecting some bad storms overnight, I think. My nephPup, Gil, even took his own shirt off today he was so hot. LOL! If I was Joel, I'd hibernate, too! We always knew he was a smart! :) |
1 Attachment(s) Yeah, not much winter here, either. This is how Huey deals with nonstop rain, tho... |
I have a Doggy Door, so my guys are used to running outside whenever they want. I don't think that cool/cold weather has much of an effect on the frequency, but possibly the lengths of their outings. During the warmer months, they frequently spend hours outside, lounging in the Sun, chasing Squirrels and playing. I have a lot of Glass/windows/Patio Door viewing that area, so it's not hard to keep an eye on them. My guys are in very good shape. I have a 2 story house, and they "monitor" the property from the second floor windows, and frequently run out to the back of the property, to "defend" their territory ;). |
Gracie has a problem with the cold. She will snuggle up with anyone when it is chilly out. She even cuddles with the cats in order to keep warm when she Can't find a human to cuddle with. I find that putting her sweater dress on or her pajamas makes her much more comfortable. She also likes to lay on the heated throw. |
We are a Florida pack. My Yorkies hate anything below 70 and detest rain. They lay around sleeping and complain about going out to potty in the rain. When we had hurricane type storms for days in a row, I really regreted not pee-pad training all the Yorkies. My older one were only outside trained. |

Except, when their feet are damp and cold, THEN they want to be held in my lap, where the wetness can be absorbed (by ME), and of course warmth furnished. What can I say...I give in and let them every time. I guess I could say my guys are both outside and paper trained. I have a Utility Room, with a Doggy Door. When it gets cold or rainy, I lay paper down in front of the DDoor, where they must make it at least to the paper, THEN the option to go on outside is still there. Unless it's pretty bad, My Adults opt to go on outside to potty. Ichabod is still "iffey" about it. My Male Sneakers is the most reliable about going out. I've seen him (while it's raining) go out onto the Breezeway which is covered, walk to the edge of the concrete, lift his leg and pee out onto the grass. ;) |
