cat/yorkie weird friendships So...I recently gave my dbf two kittens to try and combat his mouse in the house problem. Kitties were born June 25 and I think I got them the middle of September. They are growing into BIG boys...Id say around 8lbs each right now...Ruby n Rosie love them and they love R n R. The one would actually try hold Ruby down and attempt to nurse off of her...poor Ruby..he is so much bigger than her (try more then double her size)....thank goodness he finally gave it up...hopefully lack of milk had something to do with that!! :) Anyway, now he and Ruby have a new relationship where he totally grooms her...from head to toe. She will walk up to him...lean into him turn herself this way and that way for a bath and if he quits too soon...she physically bats him with her paw til he starts up again. Anyone else's pets have quirky relationships???? |
Haha. That sounds so silly :D ..... and yes, Dexter & Clyde have made a strange friendship. They are friends with a rat lol |
That is so cool...I've wondered about introducing a diff pet into the mix like a guinea pig or rabbit...some day but wonder how they'd do being terriers! |
Joey loves birds, the parakeets to be exact lol |
My female LOVES my big male cats. She attacks them with kisses and won't give up until they push her over. They usually just let her and actually seem to enjoy her kisses. They both groom her. They love their little sister :) |
Not really, well my dogs bff is a huge American pit. Elvis think he's a cat, he grooms everyone like he is one-but he is convinced he's a cat killer everytime the neighbor cats sit on the fence or by it and taunt him. Scoobers love chihuahuas, pretty sure he think he is not only the size of one but is one. Princess has a weird relatiinship with the sheepskins we have around the house-especially the one she blends into...always curious if she'd react the same way to a live sheep. |
Guinness loves to molest squirrels but his BFF is a huge pit bill and he loves goats too for some odd reason. |
Sam and Tinkerbelle are anything BUT friends. She's a lazy, spoiled, almost 13 pound feline diva. She tolerates his little 2 pound self, as long as he keeps his distance. If he wants to play, Tink will growl at him and hiss if he gets too close. He got too close one time, and I don't know if she nipped him or swatted him (she has all her claws), but he backs way way off now when she warns. |

I swear I am constantly yelling "Zoey leave your sister alone" or "Brandi leave your sister alone". |
That is a different kind of relationship! My Gracie was raised with cats and kittens but she always took on the job of cat herder. She is sure she is in charge of all cats although she does use them as an extra heat source to wrap herself around when she can't find a lap to sit in. |
We had show cats (Ocicats) when Boog was young and his favorite was a huge male named Khan...he was silver with black leopard spots and 16 pounds of muscle and fur at a young age. Boog was maybe 4 pounds soaking wet but they were best buddies. After we placed Khan Boog didn't want anything to do with cats...I think he missed his buddy. Boog also loved our parrots but I think that was because they would call him to their aviary and then throw food to him...he walked into the living room with pasta hanging off of his head more than once and then tried to look so innocent! lol! |

Haha, i love this thread:D Farley pretty much loves all little animals. I have fostered soooooo many newborn baby puppies and kittens, and squirrels and guinea pigs... etc. He loves them. We have a baby sphynx( hairless kitten) almost 6 months old now, and about the same size as Farley and they love each other. Kinda love hate relationship tho when the kitten chases farley. I will put a pic of farleys bestie in my album:) |
Oh my goodness, yesssss!!! Mia l.o.v.e.s one of my kitties soooooo much. The two of them kissy face for hours...usually until kitty says 'enough' and I have seen him gently punch her head to the kitchen floor and hold it there with his paw to get her to stop kissing all over him so he can catch his breath. Mostly, they licky-licky, kissy-kissy simultaneously...and both l.o.v.e it! :D We have taken several videos of the whole sordid ordeal. |

Bobbi - Mine are never around any other animals so I don't know how either would act. I love that the cat grooms Ruby. Too cute!! |
