Something's wrong with my Winston I came home from work at 4:00 and Winston is acting different. He's very quite, not his usual self. He did have a regular BM. His nose is wet and cool. He had some clear mucus on his mouth when I picked him up. He's 6.5 months old. Could he be cutting teeth? |
If your vet is still open, please call them. Too hard to really tell here. Praying all is well soon! |
i second that just to be safe...hope all is ok. |
Agree on the Vet call/ visit- Hopefully everything is ok with your Winston! |
I would check with your Vet and also look around the house to see if Winston got into something he should not have like medicine, food he should eat etc. I hope he is feeling better soon. |
Yes, check with the vet and let us know what you learn. Prayers for Winston!! |

Could he have gotten into something? How is he doing now? |
Hope you got a hold of your vet. Hopefully he just is teething but better to be safe with these little ones. |
Praying for Winston. Hope he is okay. |
Stopping by to check on Winston. How's he doing? |
I hope Winston is doing better and you were able to get ahold of your vet. I hope he is just teething! |

Well first thank you all for your concern and responses. I found out what was wrong with Winston. Someone left an electrical cord near his cage!! He chewed through it. I didn't see the cord at first and was checking around his cage to see if he got into something when I saw it. It was still plugged in and sparked when I picked it up. I'm so lucky he's alive. I think he was stunned. Luckily no burns on his mouth or lasting effects. Needless to say my teenagers got a lecture on having anything near the puppy crate! Winston is back to normal. I believe God was looking after my baby. Thank you all again for caring! |
Oh my gosh, bless his heart. Yes, so very lucky and I'm glad he seems to be doing well now. Sending hugs to the little guy. |
I am happy to hear he is doing better. Fortunately the shock wasn't too strong. Hugs to Winston. |
OMG!!! Bless his heart! I am so happy he didnt get electrcuted....some electrical engineer or electric person may know FOR CERTAIN if they can even get killed by chewing on cords...all they may get is a bad shock, I dont know....but whatever!!! Thankfully, he is ok! (THANK YOU for taking the time to return with an update!) |
Oh my goodness! Poor Winston - probably scared him pretty bad too. My hubby is an electrician and says that the probably of a little one dying from chewing through the cord is little to none. Of course, there is always a chance that a pup has perished in this fashion, but the elements surrounding it would have to be just perfect. Hubby says that the shock to them would be like the kind of shock we would receive. Thankfully he is okay. |

Thank you, electrician hubby! My ex used to fool with electricity all the time and used to say something like "it isnt the volts that kill you, its the amps"....When I was only 3 years old, I took a bobby pin.....this is imprinted in my memory like it happened YESTERDAY!!!....I opened that bobby pin up and I "plugged" it into the wall socket....I do not remember anything after that except waking up against the wall across the room.....from that day to this, I am TERRIFIED of elkectricity....I go through some really anxious, stupid moments everytime I have to plug anything into the wall socket!!!!! |
