chocolate hair problem
 
Hi to all, im newhere my name is Elizabeth, my baby girl Chloe chocolate yorkie she was only six week when i get her and very sick now she is 15 week and she loosing her hair on her back and both ears are totally bolt vet said her mite test was ok if any one could give me any opinon or any product like vitamins,oil etc. i could buying for yorkies hair thanks;)

Hi and welcome to YT. I give Buster Salmon oil for his hair and skin. Let me do a search on YT and see if I can find any additional info for you. Where are you in Massachusetts I am originally from Longmeadow which is near Springfield.

I don't think lack of oil is going to make a dog lose its hair if it's eating a balanced dog food. You have to be seriously malnourished for a really long time to lose your hair. Something else is causing this. I would ask the vet for a referral to a dermatologist. Did the vet do a skin scraping? Did he just give up? To be frank, I don’t believe that a breeder who breeds off colors and sells pups that young is a reputable breeder, but I still think you should tell her about what’s going on with your dog. Thanks for a better answer. I figured it was more serious especially since Elizabeth said poor Chloe was very sick when she got her.

I just didn't want her to think adding oil could clear it up, if it's something like mites. Mites can be hard to find without a skin scraping.

Are you sure she is a chocolate. The reason I ask is I was told my the breeder mine was a chocolate and she looked chocolate when she was around that age, but she slowly started changing a blue color. At her first vet appointment at 12 weeks the vet said she was blue. I thought she was still a chocolate, but soon discovered with help from a YT member who has a blue that my Angel is a blue also. Her hair is doing exactly what yours is doing. I would love to see some pictures.

hi. thanks for you comments the akc paper said she is a chocolate but her ear not hair and they look blue and her back loosing hair and look blue to im trying to post some pics but is said they to long:confused:

There are Yorkies that are called Blue Born because of their coloring that can have issues with skin and hair. Here are some threads that might help you understand your dogs hair and skin issues. Read especially about Blue Born Mac who is Kendra's dog and is doing great.

Kendra helped me figure out my Angel is a blue. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw this post. Especially since Angels hair is doing the same thing. Angel was given to us as a chocolate also, but she is 25 weeks now and where she has hair is a whitish silver and where there's no hair her skin is also blue. I hope we don't upset the OP by telling her she may have a blue. I just wanted to tell her my experience.

I know I was worried about upsetting her by including the threads but I thought it be best that she can present this to her vet. I hope all goes well for her and this pup.

Hi and welcome to Yt!! I would really love to see some pictures of your baby! You must first resize them and make them smaller in order to post them here. An easy way to do this is in paint. Just open a picture in windows paint, click on resize, I usually then click on pixels, and reduce it about 75%. That usually works. At the very bottom of this tread it says "go advanced". Below all the smiley faces an other pictures it says "manage attachments". Click this and you will be able to upload photos. Try have to be smaller than 200 mb I believe.

It does sound like you may have been sold a "blue" puppy and not a chocolate. But, lets wait and look and some pictures before we go any further!!
