Ears Up! Maggie Mae was born April 15, 2012. She became part of our family in November. She is a high spirited loving little girl. She has a very heavy beautiful coat with heavy fringed floppy ears. DH and I debated for a few months whether to try taping them or not due to her age and because her floppy ears were cute too. Finally, we decided to shave the hair off her ears and tape them for three days with masking tape. I worried every day over her that she might be uncomfortable, however, she played, ate, had her typical zoomies, loved to be brushed...just the typical routine for three days. Then today the tape came off. Maggie Mae's ears are standing to attention! She doesn't look like a puppy any more. I am really rather surprised at 9 months old that we could get her ears to stand up...now we will wait and see if they will continue to stand. Either way she is absolutely precious! |
Oh wonderful! Would you please post picts, maybe of the before and after?? |
Cool. You give hope to those that desperately want erect ears but are afraid of not getting them! Pics, please! =) |
That is wonderful. Now you need to post some pics |
I would love to post some pics, however I am a dummy when it comes to the downsizing of the pics on this site. I did put a pic of a before and after in her album here. The after one of her, please forgive, her hair is rather messy, but when a girl is having masking tape removed from her hair it can get rather messy. But, please notice the smile Miss Maggie keeps on her face even after submitting to having her ears taped together. She is a doll! |
Oh what a beauty and look at those ears!!! That is amazing at 9 months. Way to go Maggie !!!! |
Nana, thank you! I do think she looks cute and she has fit so well with our other two girls. I am really surprised though that ears can successfully be taped this late. I am always learning something new and a lot of it is here on this forum. |
That is amazing! Very encouraging for those who have puppies whose ears have not gone up. |
