Question for breeders Hi there, I am currently looking for a new puppy, and in conversation with the breeder I am working with, she told me that her puppies are typically "full of personality". Is that code in the breeder world for being extremely hyper? |
well im not a breeder but imo that could mean just distinct happy personalities...but you are looking at puppies and puppies are hyper....i mean until they poop themselves out and nap. hehe. im sure some other might chim in cause im not even 30% up breeder talk. good luck in your search. |
Yorkies are like children and they do all have different personalities. "Full of personality" could just mean that the pups are not shy and they interact well with their litter mates and with humans. Don't be afraid to ask the breeder what she means. Also ask about the personalities of the parents. How old are these pups? |
Thanks for the response. The puppies are 10 weeks old, and I wouldn't be able to bring one home for an additional two weeks. She said that one that I am interested in is very playful and that everyone that has seen him says that he is full of personality. I took that to mean something really great, but I thought I would ask everyone on the site since you are all experts and I value your opinion. :) |
I consider both of my Yorkies "full of personality" and they are almost 3 but not what I'd call hyper...although they are energetic. They are more like bubbly, playful, little children, attentive, intelligent, comical, and sometimes like to tease both each other and the humans. :D I think I might ask her to explain/describe what a puppy that is "full of personality" is like, or what I can expect from a puppy so described...perhaps vs. one that is not "full of personality" and/or what she (breeder) considers that reference to mean. Can't hurt to ask...;):) I am excited for you...congratulations! Pix would be great! :p:D |
Ask the breeder directly if that means they are extremely hyper. A breeder should get a general idea of a pups personality...by no means a guarentee...abd natch your wants, needs, lifestyle with an appropriately chosen pup. Training help will be something a good breeders offers for the life of the pup. |
Not sure what the breeder meant but wanted to welcome you and wish you the best with your new puppy. |
