I really want to read a book called, give your dog a bone, I think, which is supposed to be eye-opening. I really want to give my dog bones but have a hard time choosing which ones. I don't want it to splinter or make him choke, yet don't want it to be too hard that it chips his teeth either. Does anyone have recommendation on this kind of bone? Btw, Jaedawn, I read on Tinkerwolf, the raw diet site, about stagbars and I plan to try it. It's supposed to be a healthier chew treat? They are based in UK if it helps :) Stagbar antler dog chews |
My pups eat marrow bones that I buy from Darwin's. Natural, Raw Dog Food, Grain-free Dog Food - from Darwin’s Pet We've never had a problem with them splintering and/or broken teeth. There's a ton of marrow in the middle & they spend hours trying to get it out. They also have one duck neck a week - also from Darwin's. The duck necks are mostly cartilage, soft bone and meat. The duck necks only last about an hour & they gobble the whole thing up. I've never had a problem with giving them bones. But I keep them in the kitchen with the baby gate closed so I can supervise them. |
