isn't great that they all have an individual yet similar look! Shelby'smom I don't see any flaws in Shelby what a cutie! |
is she really flawed, or are you just joking? she looks so adorable. |

Well, flawed in the sense that she wasn't a fine enough specimen to be a show girl :D Shelby is a good example of pet quality from a show breeder. thank you, she is perfect to me. |
jaspersmom, I see Yorkies on here every day that I know are much prettier than mine and are much better quality according to the breed standard...but that doesn't matter :) Don't feel like you are the only one who feels that way sometimes...and honestly I am real picky about pictures I post...just like I'd NEVER post a bad picture of myself on here, I hardly ever post a picture of my fur babies when they are not looking their somewhat best either :D not because I'd ever think someone would be critical or anything, you guys are the best, I just like you all to see them at their best :) So don't worry about that, OK. Hope that makes you feel a little better ;) |

I think with dogs is the same as human kids. My three year old daughter is often mistaken for a four year old. And my nephew is thought to be two when he's really four. I think dogs are like that too. And despite purebred and standard and all that, their appearances are gonna vary from all others because they are all unique, you know? That's just my opinion. |
1 Attachment(s) I know I haven't been on in a long time (darn college!) but here is a picture of my Roxy at 6 months. |

Gosh, I hope she doesn't feel bad...don't think she does. I think she is just curious about the "standard" description and how her dog fits in? All of the dogs here are adorable. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is Faith @ Six Months, she's now at 10 months, I'll have to get new pics. |
2 Attachment(s) This is Bruiser @ 6 months, and now @ 1.5 years. |
I am guessing from your pictures, there are two kinds of yorkie faces, one is the terrier type face, the other is the baby doll type face, I would say that your little wosie is the terrier type face. That is the different look , that you are seeing. Just my opinion. |

I have to agree on the cuter than a bug comment! She is a doll!! |
Everyone, you are so awesome! Quote:
This has been an interesting research project! I am loving all these pictures, and it has indeed shown the two different looks in faces. In particular I am looking at the coats of the pups. Sillyjacki's Roxi is the closest to my Wosie in look at 6 months. Wosie does not have all the thick fur that most of these pictures show. Villette brought up an interesting point about there being a possibility of Chi in her, and as she is AKC registered, I question that. However, I have seen a thread on here that discussed the origins of the Yorkie as they were being mixed way back in the day, and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there was Chihuahua in there somewhere. It is possible that my Wosie Posie is throwing back to that look. Do not fear, my friends, I am not "feeling bad" about my wonderful pup. I am incredibly in love with her. Although I have had other Yorkies in the past, I have never felt as close to a dog as I do her. Her injury and the challenges it brought me has made us inseperable literally and figuratively. I would adore her if she were 15 pounds with polka dots and tufts, ( :) though it would have made it a LOT harder to carry her around as much as I have since she broke her leg, lol!). I was researching, and I think it has been a successful project. I truly appreciate all of you for your participation. Thank you, my friends! :D |
