I used to get thick, now I find I need jumbo (for a 16lb dog). I can only imagine if I had a bigger dog... I will say the 12" jumbos are lasting him the longest!! It takes him 3-4 days to finish one. I pick it up after about 30 mins - 1 hour of chewing. But he usually stops by himself anyway. But we had one bag of 6" thick ones and I was shocked how quick he got through that stick! Booo, so I guess we'll keep doing jumbos in the future... just hope they are not making their sticks smaller? |
As the OP stated, some of the cheaper bully sticks do cause digestive problems. I would rather pay a little more and not have to worry. So far have had best results with Best Bully. Have not had any issues with varying thicknesses yet. But I don't order direct form Best Bully so that may have something to do with it. Gracie is chomping on one as I write. I think getting a thicker stick is the best idea in order to prevent them from actually eating the stick. Gracie does not have a big mouth so I get her the regular thickness and it has worked well so far. |

i also think the thick and jumbo ones are much better. i dont worry about him biting off a piece and the last much longer.. for a tiny dog , oscar is a very aggressive chewer....:) |
Cute piccie! Btw, how is the odor w/ these bullies? |

The ones at PetSmart are SUPER expensive. I can't even remember the price because I've blocked that bad memory out of my head lol I only order from Best Bully's now. Can't beat the price and my 2 love them. (I do have to separate them because Shelby goes thru them so fast..the he goes to get hers) |
We love bestbullysticks! I always get the odor free, and get Chase the thick or jumbo, and Calvin gets the regulars :) |

I have tried both the low odor and the regular. Honestly I think it varies. I have not had that much odor from the regular ones. I thought some of the low odor sticks actually smelled more. I did notice she was able to chew down the low odor sticks faster. I read some where that the low odor sticks are drained more than the regular ones. Some companies use bleach on the low odor sticks. Best Bully does not use bleach. I just get the regular sticks since I did not see that much of an advantage with the low odor. |

My intent was to admit how passionate and out spoken I can be at times on a wide variety of subjects. HOWEVER, I will say that given my experience here on this Forum reading the comments of several other "energetic" members... I'm in VERY good company ! |
Thanks so much!! |
