It is right at the first knuckle under the nail and i just tried and I can bend it now that swelling is down so I am guessing it is not broke.... Am I guessing wrong?

It could be a tuft fracture. That is where the tip of the finger bone (Distal phlanx)is cracked or crushed. Antibiotics are usually still indicated for this kind of fracture and splinting of the finger for 4 to 6 weeks.

Photos of tuft fracture . Alisha, is this about the location of your injury? You can do an internet search on OPEN tuft fracture so you can make an informed decision as to whether you want to risk waiting till the morning to get it checked. The "open" part is what makes it important.

I have had a bandaid on it since it happen around 6pm

Yeqh, its hard to say if is is broken or not without an xray . It doesn't look incredibly bruised or swollen right now, so it might just be a minor tissue crush injury. The problem is, if it is a fracture, it could set up infection. If it were me (and this is not the nurse talking) I would probably scrub it out good, put some antibiotic ointment on it and get it checked the next day if it still hurt. The nurse part of me says I have to tell you the risk of infection and potential damage to the hand if infection does set in. Do an internet search, look at photos read the info & make an informed decision. I'll stop being nurseynurse now. Sorry, ingrained after 25 years of doing this...

Haha it's all good trust me, I always freak out when I have an open womb after going thought staph infections twice so as soon as it happen to made sure to clean it good and keep it covered... I figured I would give it till the morning and if I see any signs of the area being warm or anything else odd I will go in..

Alisha, hows the finger this morning? It wouldn't hurt to go to a walk in clinic and get a quick xray and make sure it isnt a tuft fx. It will be hard to take the roomba apart and clean it of poo if your finger gets infected. Be sure you have the cut covered with a glove before playing in Stella poo!!! Hope you AND Stella are feeling better this morning!:)
