Goin' Campin' Again ! The rain is supposed to let up tomorrow and hot, muggy weather will be moving in, so we are headed to the coast and the ocean! Will leave first thing tomorrow morning for Camden Hills State Park in Camden, Maine, which is only about 40 minutes down the road from us. It is located in the quintessential cutsie, ultra-affluent, town that is the home of Maine Windjammer Fleet of tall ships, mostly big schooners. Just got back and Camden Hills was DELIGHTFUL!!! Had a huge shady site right in the path of the ocean breeze and it never got out of the 60s there! It was very humid, though, with lots of fog. Still, VERY relaxing and nobody around, so we let the little guys run loose on the site when we were watching. We had such fun! |
Hi We are campers too. We live in Boothbay Harbor, ME. Going camping in a couple of weeks. It will be Penny's first trip. Our other dog loves going. Not sure how she will do, especially since she likes to get up at 5:30 AM and is not potty trained yet. Any suggestions? Hints? etc. Have you ever camped in Boothbay? We own a lobster business. And yes my girls are spoiled, they get a piece of lobster now and then. They love it! :D |
You are so LUCKY to be in Maine at this time of year - I grew up in New England and it's SOOOOO Gorgeous and the tall ships are something we always watched for on the ocean - talk about Majestic ! Say hi to all my uncles in Maine - they're real fishermen ! HAve a great time - that's a beautiful area of the country and I can't WAIT to be in Rhode Island in August !! I'll be near Newport and can see the sailboats in person ! |
