Haw many of us Geocache with our Babies... I love when the guys can tag along. They are great to trek with when the weather is good. |
Geocaching is new to me, I had to google it to find out what you were even talking about!:D |
yeah what is it |
Geocaching and a link to a place that expains it better Geocaching is a free real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS and can then share their experiences online. Geocaching > Geocaching 101 |

I LOVE geocaching!! I started in 2010 and got my boyfriend into it. We almost got a GPS for Christmas but I'm still not sure which is best for us. We were looking at the Garmin Dakota 20 and the Magellen explorist. Right now we just use the app on our phones. It's been too cold to geocache! Luma has only tagged along once or twice. Which gps model do you have? I've been waiting for a YTer to come along that knew about geocaching :D |

Mine go once and awhile. My dad had all the fancy geo cache stuff. But was just starting to use an iPhone you could find and log all at once. I find the iPhone much easier to use then the GPS. Jmo |
Never heard of it, but it sounds like fun. |
Carmeow I use an older model Garmen E-Trek Legend. Got it in 2007. I like the challenge of caching without a phone and hints, but that is just me. My Dad got a newer Garmin, Color screen, better computer interface, etc. He loves it. I will say that Garmin is the best as far as I am concerned. I used a magellan until I got mine, never liked it as much. I think Geocaching is a great past time, and I love watching the dogs bushwhack with me. Feel free to PM me. |
Yes dad had the latest updated garmin. He did lots more of this then me. But when we were having trouble finding one he would say what was that hint. What was that comment they left on some advice... Lol. Good times I will miss doing this with him. He loved it so.. It's amazing how much work and thoughts go into some of the caches |

Ha... I've heard of this game but never the name. I'm in Alabama and it is already to cold for me. Sorry all the YTers up north(I couldn't do it). |
My son and I love Geocaching. We havent taken Lexi yet, but I bet she would be a good little finder of treasures. We have only done a few and mostly around our house. Everytime I drive by where the 'treasures' we found are, it makes me smile. Our son lives 175 miles from us, so don't get to see him very often. Lexi is going next time.! |
I go any weekend I can. My son is 25and lives south of town. So when I am heading that way I always tell him. When he is not working he usually goes with. I can only take Max (11 y/o) when its over 50 degrees out. Titus(8 y/0) can go a little colder, but only when its dry. The only danger Titus causes is wanting to go potty at the cache site...we always tell him no they don't want us to leave that. I am going to order tags for the dogs that have a "tracking Number" on them. Then people can "Log my Dogs" as a mobile find. Here is the link to that tag. I love it. Log My Dog Tag - Pet Gear - Clothing/Gear My Son and were caching last weekend and it was 20 degrees with a wind chill of 17....brrrrrr....we found 7 but only logged 6 cause one we have to wait for better weather to Get the cache and sign the log. We were bunndled up like snowmen and stayed fairly warm. |
