Are they safe and ok for Yorkers?

Well, it is chopped up rawhide which is a very low quality protein. They also put several other less than healthy ingredients like sugar and salt. Not good for the long term health of your dog.

I looked at Dingo products in the grocery store and they either did not state on the package where they were made or are made in China. For those companies that do not have that info on the package, I assume that it is made in China, so not worth the risk to me.

Thanks. Dh does not want to brush jasmin's teeth so we are left with dental chew. Any suggestion for healthy dental chew?

There are all natural chews like bully sticks but if you really want to keep your dog's teeth clean you might want to try one of the enzymatic water additives. It's about the easiest way to keep plaque from forming on the teeth.

Be very careful with dental chews. Products like Greenies have been reported to cause intestinal blockages in small dogs (and a few large dogs).

Do additives like biotene really do any good? Even though Huey chews on toothbrushes every day and I use the enzymztic toothpaste from C.E.T., I am worried about his teeth as he gets older. I have friends who's yorkies have had all their teeth pulled. His teeth are in great shape now at almost 4 years old, and I want to keep them that way. Once they are bad, it is too late.

Does he know how important brushing teeth can be? It can lead to heart disease and a whole lot of other bad things. Not brushing will more then likely end up with her having to have teeth pulled every couple of years. Would not suggest you go this route because it is not real fair to her.

The enzymes have proven to be very effective if used on a regular basis. I feed my cats kibble so they need the enzymes in the water. Gracie is two and a half now and her teeth are perfect. If you keep the teeth clean and have them checked by a vet yearly you should be able to prevent a lot of the problems some Yorkies have with their teeth. Make sure you are feeding them things that do not contain corn or any type of sugar.
