Grrr....Wallee stole the cat food again. Turned my back for one moment and the little bugger polished off a bowl. Our poor kitties are on controlled feeding as we have one obese one we are trying to help loose weight. They have to ask for food and they are each fed from their own pre measured dishes. Normally Wallee will run there when we feed and we stand and guard it. He was out like a light so I thought I'd sneak off to the washroom. Come out and the bowl is empty.... Ugggh.... He looks at me with that little guilty face. We try so hard to keep the food from him as we were told the protein is too high in cat food for dogs. Sure hope he doesn't end up with a tummy ache. |
LOL. When he comes home I am going to have to watch to make sure my little piglets(my 2 boys - kitties) do not eat the puppy food. |
Sounds like my house. Puppy eats old dog food. Old dog eats puppy food. Fat cats eats any food in sight. Dogs sneak in to eat cat food when they hear the automatic feeder go off (3xs a day). Large dog eats the outside cats food when outside. Old dog goes into large dog's kennel and eats his food. It is never ending!!! Have you tried leaving cat food on the washer/dryer, table, or dresser? |
We leave the cat food in a baby-gated room. That way, cat can get to his food, yorkie can't. P-Nut is a glutton for wet and dry cat food...not good... |
My folks free feed their cats and we typically stay during dinner - Ody and Zeus will pig out on the food that they can get. Little oinks! LOL |
My kitties eat their food at the top of their cat tree where the dogs can't get to it. Couver has gotten into their food before and had a tummy ache, so I'm super careful that he cannot get to it. I would just hold Wallee while the kitties are eating. Do they eat it all in one sitting? |

Well it's an all day battle. They only eat bits at a time (typical cat behavior) so the food is brought out often. When only one is eating I will put he or she on the table. At supper when they get their wet food, Wallee gets a couple tablespoons of puppy wet food so that keeps him happy till his is gobbled down at least. All I can say is thank God he is too much of a baby to go down the stairs to wear the cat boxes are cause we all know what would happen then.... |
Mine steal the cat food all the time. So far they have never had a problem with it. |
I feed my cats 3 times a day and they eat most of it immediately. But, I feed them in our finished basement because if I tried to feed them upstairs, the dogs would try to eat the cats' food! |
That's the exact reason why I put my cat's food up high on a cart. If I didn't the poor cat would starve to death.:p |

Just a matter of time before he starts helping himself to kitty treats....I had that problem too. I got a lid and turn the litter box around so only the cat can get in. Do you know how many times I had to chase Brandi around the house while she had kitty treats in her mouth?:D I finally figure out how to stop it and so far, no more kitty treats. |
