Help me understand yorkie colors..... I have been doing some reading on yorkie colors. Teeka is AKC registered as black/gold. Does that mean she will stay black and just her head fall will be a golden color? Her head is turning a gray color right now, but her black on her back is very black with no change in color. I have heard others talk about their yorkies start to change to their mature color between 4-6 months. Does anyone think Teeka will get the silver or steal coloring? By the way, Teeka is just 6 months of age. I am just curious because my first yorkie, kept her hair color of black all her life. She was 10 yrs. when she passed. |
My two boys who are 6 months old are very dark on their head is a dark smoky color silver behind their ears as I understand it should turn gold or tan. Something like the color of their hair between their pads under their foot.but not entirely sure. |
Hmmm, it makes me think that she will stay black. Her parents were a steel color on their back and head color was a gold, if I remember correctly. |
:confused:I also read that if their hair is thick when they are younger, that as an adult their hair will be thinner and not hold together......or something like that. Some of this yorkie hair talk doesn't make sense with out pictures. Sorry I am a visual learner!!!! :scratchhe:scratchhe:scratchhe |
