Microchip?? Where do I get a microchip - what do they cost - and where do you register them? Thanks - Carol Jean |
I think alot of Vet's do them. I think that is what I have read! :D |
Yes, you get it done at the vet. |
The vet does it. I cant remember how much it costs I had it done during the spay/neuter. I remember it was inexpensive though. The vet gives you a pamplet with the number to call and register the chip. |
Microchip Our vet has them and when you get it they give you the paper work to send in to register. If I remember right it costs about $35. They are registered at the vet and also at whatever microchip place, such as Home Again, or Avid. Hope this helps. |
Well.... I see chachi was posting the same time as I was. Beat me by a minute. |
And its best if you can do it with the spay/neuter if you can because its a pretty good size needle that they use! |

Ouch...that sounds like it may hurt...best to do while they are out then... |
My vet does it and he recommends it when I take Rocky in to get fixed in about another month or two. He said it cost at $40.00 and he will never fill a thing. |
Edie is chipped. It cost $30 five years ago when we did it. The chip is large, about the size of a grain of rice, so the needle is large. You don't want to have this done unless the dog is anesthetized. Lots of dogs have them done during the spay/neuter. |
petco's mobile vaccination unit named "i luv pets" or something like that, offers microchips by Home Again for like $30. you can also check with the local spca or animal control. the local animal control near me offers free or low fee microchipping clinics. the recommended donation is $10 for local county residents and $15 for non residents. |
