New to YT. Happy New Year from Delaware. Hello, I wanted to introduce myself. I've been a member for about 2 weeks. I've been trying to educate myself as much as possible before my Yorkie comes home. I purchased her from the breeder on 12/22, however; I can't bring her home until the first week in February when she is 12 weeks old. I named her Piper and she is now called that at the breeders. I also bond with her once a week. I try to go twice a week but the breeder is over an hour away. I'm so excited and it seems like it will be forever before Piper is home. She is not even here yet and I've already started spending tons of money on her. I love this site and everyone is so helpful and insightful. I'll post pics soon. Tesha |
Hi Tesha. I'm a newbie as well. This site has a lot of good information for your new addition. I am a first time Yorkie owner. Good Luck with Piper and can't wait to see pics! |
Welcome to YT, Tesha! And, Happy New Year to you and Piper. It's so great that you are here before bringing Piper home. You are going to be a great Yorkie mom! :) |

Thank you MandiesMom, both of yours are cute too. Did they get along from the start? By the way I posted a response but have no idea where it posted to, lol. |

My two actually have gotten along really well since day 1. I was worried because I had my big boy for 3 years and he was an only dog the whole time. To make sure I gave a good transition for him, I came in the house alone first while hubby kept Mandie in the car. I let him sniff her smell all over me and petted him while he did. Then, I went and got Mandie and brought her inside "butt first" and let him sniff her butt. Then, we all went into a room in our house where no dog had been allowed before so it was both their first time. We all got on the floor and mingled for about 30 minutes or so. After that, there was never an issue. To this day, the oldest still gets fed first, greeted first, treated first, petted first. And, he has always gotten just as much loving and attention as the baby - from day 1. That probably made him love her because I'm pretty sure he gets more attention now than before we had her. lol |
Welcome to YT, sounds like you have a good breeder! Piper is beautiful! precious and I love the name Piper! |
