And yes furby's are EVIL. Mine used to scare the crap outta me! I swear it would start talking to me in the middle of the night, even when it was turned off

My yorkie acts like a baby so I just say "what a sweet baby"! LOL. I also have 3 children, all grown and they are also my babies!

I guess I've said before "he's my baby" to people who mention things like "omg you take so many pictures of your dog!" (Lol, believe me, I've heard it before, and it's true :D) and I'll reply with "oh he's my baby!" but in general, I don't really refer to him as anything.

Britster - I kind of get the same images in my head too. lol

OP - I call my animals (whether it was my cat, my 3 ferrets, or my various dogs) my "babies" because that is how I feel about them. I cannot have kids so my animals are my kids. My mom even calls Mandie and Shelby-Dale her grandpups :)

Lol that pictured has ruined the word skinchild for me, I never used it but now when I read the word this will be the 1st thing I see..thanks alot lol

I tend to use the word pups. Although my adult dogs are no longer pups. For me pups are a term of endearment.

It is a term that re-evokes(if that is even a word), that incredible love and protectiveness you have for a pup. I just never lost that feeling when the boys became older.

I also use the term boys a lot. Like Hi boys I am home; how are the boys, etc.

I do too, I use pups a lot.

I also greatly dislike the term "skin kid" however furbaby doesn't bother me at all.

You don't like Furby???? I have one of each iteration. Just got my 2012 one a few weeks back. Now, he does have a kinda mean side with slitty eyes and a 'tude when you pull his tail too much but he's not evil. Tibbe and I play with them quite a lot! Mostly they just act idiotic and make Tibbe bark a lot. He's fascinated by them.

You've got to understand, I was probably six when the first Furby came out. I didn't ask for one, I got one for Christmas. He was black with purple wizard robe and hat with yellow stars. He'd come alive in the middle of the night in my dark bedroom and wake me up. It was traumatizing! :p I remember hurling it down the stairs...he was unbreakable...then I had to live with the guilt that I tried to break my furby and he survived it. I could see the hurt in his creepy, bulging eyes.

I finally made my mom put him in storage and ten years later when we opened the box, the batteries in him had leaked out and his beak was broken, but he was STILL alive!! :eek:

Yes, I just googled and I actually WAS six years old when the Furby came out! Wow! I feel old. Here's my little buddy....retails for $140 now!!!! Boy, I wish I had mine and he was in good condition!

LOL omg I have the same memory. And I'm 22 now. But omg Furby = Chuckie in my eyes! So scary!

Oh, my gosh, that was funny and kinda creepy. A toy scared you as a kid? Never was scared by a toy in my life, even as a kid. LOL. You should have had my sister in your family. If she didn't like a toy of hers, she buried it!!!!! :eek::)
