Rudolph left a present Finally....we found something that Wallee will chew on. He's a weird little guy. I haven't been able to keep him interested in chewing on anything so we can have some quiet time in the evening when we watch tv. The Kong works a little with water frozen in it (I Hanes to Saran wrap one end to fill with water and freeze), and he will "sometimes" chew a bully stick. I had hubby go across town for a new bully stick last weekend and sitar all he does is bring it to you and put it at your feet but won't chew it. It used to be that if you held it and got him interested he would chew it until it was unsafe and taken away. No so this time. We have also tried all the different nylabones and marrow bones to no avail. Yesterday we decided poetry the dear antlers. SUCESS!!!! Now let's just hope this present Rudolph left continues to hold his interest. |
So glad you found something he likes. Merry Christmas, Wallee! :) |
I've heard and been reading on this site that the dogs just absolutely LOVE deer antlers. I will have to give them a try with my dogs sometimes. I'm glad that Wallee finally found a treat that he loves ^-^ |
There are probably a lot of people with dogs that chew too much that wish they had your problem. Gracie is a bully stick fan but she doesn't chew as much as she did during her first year. |
Are those deer antler things safe? Not criticizing at all, legitimately asking. I never gave Lolli bones because I've heard they can shard and they can choke. But antlers, are those safer than bones? |

However, Mandie can't break off much of anything..just dust really so the are good for her. I won't leave it out for her when I'm not around, but if I'm there, I think they are just great as a chew. |
Mine LOVES LOVES LOVES them and even knows where the bin of them is at in the store where is he groomed so he runs over grabs one each time we go for me to buy another lol and if he sees daddy pull out the peanut butter he brings it to him asking for some peanut butter on the end of it lol |
BINGO! Don't know the attraction, but Bailey just love them. Glad you found something for him to chew. |
Wallee has really been enjoying it. I bought as large of one as I thought he could handle so less opportunity for choking or splintering although the package said it would not. It seems he is only scraping off dust too. Weirdest thing 5today though, after him gnawing away for a bit we found what appeared to be another baby molar??? That surprised me cause he will get 9 months old on the 27th and I thought he had lost them all. I did, however notice this past week though that his breath was stinky again like it was when the rest of his baby teeth fell out and the tooth had essentially no root (which is what the vet said was the way to tell baby teeth). |
