Dog Snow Botts?! Hello and happy Monday! Living in an area where I know we'll get snow at some point, makes me wondering about salt. Has anyone had issues with their dog's paws and the snow melting salt stuff they use on the streets? I was just thinking about it and wondering if using the dog booties/snow boots would be helpful - has anyone tried a brand they love? Let me know what you think would be best for our 4 month old yorkiepoo. Thanks so much!! |
a member here alldogboots can help you. Yes the salt etc is bad for them and the boots will definitely be a good idea. |
Yep, Karen at AllDogBoots is the lady to speak to! :D Unfortunately, Harry won't keep ANYTHING on, full-stop.... So when it's icy/snowy etc here, I use Mushers Secret. It's a wax that we apply to Harry's feet, it's brilliant and stops ice impacting between his toes too. I dries kind of clear, so doesn't ruin your flooring, either. I get it from Amazon :) Good luck! I have never used boots. I think you would need to train your dog from an early are to wear them. Salt is very painful to the dog's feet. I buy the kind of salt that is safe for pets but of course usually your neighbors will not. I have to shovel an area for Gracie to play if the snow is deep. She does not seem to mind the snow on her feet. She actually loves to play in it for a limited amount of time. |
