Gassy Yorkie My Jackson has been non-stop farting! We had been feeding him Wellness Chicken and they changed the formula. Then he got diarrhea and I took him to the vet. She told me to feed him less and mix in plain yogurt. Well that didn't work. So now I am going to switch foods GRADUALLY. But I don't know what to switch to..any suggestions? |

Hmmmmm he must have a super sensitive belly, mine didn't get sick at all when the formula changed, they just wanted more of it ;) I know on the health forum here there is a TON of information of food preferences! |

Let's see...there is Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul, Innova EVO, Natural Choice and the list goes on. :) |

Jeter was a little toot machine too. I switched him to Nutro puppy for sensitive stomachs. It has gotten a lot better. Not totally cured, but definitely more tolerable. |

Natures Recipe is supposed to be pretty good. |

Trying new food I am introducing a new dry food called Wysong. Has anyone used it? I am also mixing in plain yogurt, which he loves and it contains acidophilus. |

You might just add acidophilus, especially if the little bugger gets tired of the yogurt. I use BeneBac all the time and give a tube to the new owneDs when a puppy leaves here. Also, there actually is a Beano type med for animals. My choice for most tummy thingies is the BeneBac. I keep it and use it if meds have to be given such as antibiotics, as they kill the BENEFICIAL and bad bacteria in the bowel. It is a formula that originally was developed for the Clydesdales that travel for the Budweiser co. OMG, can you IMAGINE cleaning up even one diarrhea pile from just one horse?? I use BilJac and Royal Canin mixed and they do pretty well. I did have one girl that would clear the room and bring tears to your eyes. Her new mom swears she is fine..I suggested the mom might want a consult with an ENT..LOL |

Okay, that's funny! I am still doing the yogurt thing, he is not tired of it, in fact he won't eat the new food w/o it! I will ask the vet for that other stuff you mentioned, thanks. |
