My Skinny Atia 1 Attachment(s) I tried to attach a picture of almost 3 lb. 6 month old Atia, the kennel-cough-cured Lithuahian/Belarusian wolf-type Yorkie complete with tail uncropped. After antibiotics since 11/11, she is a whole lot better. She has that Yorkie trachia (sp?) cough extremely bad though (as if she is fighting a leash). While she was sick, she was allowed to eat anything--the vet(s) and breeder said it was better that she eat unhealthy food than not eating at all. Soooooo, after liver sausage with kibble, greasy hamburger with kibble, ribeye steak with kibble, turkey and gravy with kibble, etc. etc., it has become a standoff to get her back on kibble with a little freshly cooked chicken breast! If I managed to get her picture on here, you will be able to see how thin she is. She's active as can be (more like a little monkey than a dog--this one might be agility material!) Do you folks have any thoughts on this? I've had 2 Yorkies before her but never one so little and thin. Do I stand my ground or what? And if it's the "or what", what do I try to feed her? Baby food and canned dog food with kibble are "unacceptable" to the princess too. |
Oh she is just cute as can be. How precious. I would say that she just needs to eat it. They will not starve themselves. She might not eat for a while but she will eventually start to eat it once she realizes there is no hamburger coming. Good luck. |
If you are really concerned about her weight you could talk to your vet about getting a prescription food. My female ate Hills Prescription PD for a while. It is high in calories but the vet was the only place I could get it. |
She is adorable. Cali is 26 weeks and 3.4 lbs she is very fine boned like yours. but she is very active. I tried all different foods for Cali and the only one she eats is the Cesars so I put a vitamin spray on her food and she seems fine. I also had a yorkie t=years ago who would only eat chicken and he lived to 13. |
Oh is she a cutie or what!? She looks like my little skinny, but mine has long legs. My other yorkie was much more stocky, :aimeeyork this one is thin. I think they're like any other being, some are thinner than others. |
I just wanted to say your baby is beautiful! |
