Yeast in dog ears. Is This ok??? My friend said she her dog has yeast and she was going to try this: She said it goes in the dog ear and you dont have to use all of it 1/2 cup of warm water and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Has anyone else tried it? Will the vinegar burn? What do yall think about it? |
personally i do not like to use home remedies for things like ear infections. i think the best thing would be a vet visit..:) |
I've used the vinegar/water mix for my GSP before. DH had him out hunting and he had gotten into a pond and I know that DH doesn't dry out Buddy's ears so when they got back I started using the mix. He didn't end up with an ear infection so as far as I know, it worked. LOL! =) |
I'd go to the vet. But that's me. |
I would go to the vet |
I have used this in a spray bottle for the ears for maintenance. To get rid of the yeast the dog needs to go to the vet. |
Yeast is all around us and generally "good" bacteria keep the yeast in check. However, certain things can throw it off, like taking antibiotics and killing the good bacteria, or even just being run down. A yeast infection can be symptom of a larger problem, so that’s why it should always be checked out by a doctor. You don’t want to be just treating symptoms; you want to treat the problem. |

How does she know it is yeast without cytology? Before attempting to treat an infection the vet shoud look to make sure the eardrum is intact. And if for whatever reason otc was the only way to go, I’d be doing Zymox. |
