Its never easy the first few times and for some the first ole dozen or so times. Hang in there he'll get use to it sooner or later. I groom all four of mine and some were ok with it and others took some getting use to the idea and the noise of the clippers. It helps to introduce the clipper and all of the supplies in a non grooming situation. No electricity or anything, just show him and let him smell them. touch them to his body and tell him what a good boy he is being. Kind of get his use to the idea of them being in the same room with him before you go a "gung ho" and start his cut. |

Gracie hated the clippers at first, too. I used to do most of her trimming with scissors. I even did her ears by hand. I guess my clippers must be louder than the ones at the groomers or she is just better for them because she was freaked out when I tried to actually do some serious cutting at first. It took several weeks of getting her accustomed to them. Even now I prefer to have someone with me when I use them on her feet because she seems to be very ticklish around the toes! |
