Growth question At what age do Yorkies normally STOP growing!? My Cici is 3.5 months old and already weighs 4.5lbs!!! |
Around a year old. Sometimes they stop before that but still fill out a bit. |
Sounds like Cici will end up being a big girl |
Usually around a year but I have 2 that didn't stop growing until about 18 months! |

About a year. |
Hmmm, my first furbaby was at her full height by 7 months. She continued to gain a few ounces. When I brought her home she wasn't quite 2 lbs. At 18 months she weighed almost 4 lbs. She never weighed more than 4lbs. I am thinking that maybe the bigger yorkies continue to grow up to a 1 yr-18mths. The smaller ones seem to reach there full growth, sooner. That is just my opinion....I hope this helps! Congrats on you new furbaby! No matter what their size, they are all adorable!!!! |
I forgot to say that my new little girl is 20 weeks and weights 2lbs 14 ozs. I too, am curious about how big she will get. Her growth has slowed in the last 2 weeks as she has only gained 1 oz. Her name is Teeka! :aimeeyork |

They usually gain about 2/3 of their body size in the first 6 to 7 months. They grow quickly in the first few months. The later part of the growth period is slower. My Gracie was pretty much her full size at age one and then added some more muscle and fat in the following 4 months. Sounds like your puppy is going to qualify for "tea pot" status!:) |
Mine hit 12lbs around 14 months and has stayed there except for ounces and filling out. |

Zachary is almost 10 months and is close to if not Tea Pot size. Will have the vet weigh him next time we go in for nail trims. Louise |
