doggie cam?
 
well my baby's grandparents are leaving for Fl tomorrow. Grandpa usually takes him for his morning walk and basically grandma spoils him throughout the day. I had great peace of mind at work knowing he was being well taken care of.As of tomorrow he will be alone during the day. I leave the house around 6.30am and get home at 4..I do leave him with stuffed kong treats, plenty of food and water and lots of toys..he has free reign of kitchen only..I also keep his rascal litter box which he is pretty good about using..Any advice for this new transition? Does anybody know about doggie cams so I can keep an eye on him while I'm at work?..I'm not comfortable with the idea of a dog walker coming to my home..I feel really terrible about leaving him alone :(

I have a App from Itunes that I use to check in on Yazmin while I'm at work.
She also stays in my kitchen while I'm gone with plenty of food, water, a ton of toys and her favorite bed tucked in the bottom of the pantry.
Every time I check in on her, she's always sleeping! :rolleyes:

It works well with my Phone, Laptop, iPod and iPad. :D

Do you just use a webcam or?

We have a IPcam on waffles. Its made by Dlink we got the one that records any movement. It live streams to web. No one but you can see it. It goes through your router and is password protected. There is an app for smart phones for it. I now can see her at any time and know she's ok. You can see what They have at dlink.com

Yes, actually my Laptop has a built-in Webcam. I leave it sitting on my kitchen counter and then will usually use the App on my iPad since the screen is larger than my phone or iPod. You can also view the iCam from another computer.
I forgot to mention, I have a small TV on my counter also. Yazmin likes watching Animal Planet in between her naps! :D

My son used Yahoo Messenger when he first got Tex. Most laptops have a camera that you can use to hook up with one service or another to watch him. All the things you mentioned to help him sound fine. I leave the radio or TV sound on for Tibbe when I leave the house. The usually pretty soon figure out you are gone and settle to sleep after they sense a pattern has formed that you leave, stay gone and after they run out of things to do, dig a nest in their beds and go to sleep. Puppies may howl for quite a while if they are still fairly young. If you have apartment neighbors you might want to do some anxiety separation desensitization for your baby to get him used to the idea.
