Collar/leash set received Today I received the collar and leash set I ordered from ebay. It is sooo cute. It is pink velvet with little diamonds all over the collar and leash. Well Twinkie did not take it so well. When I put her collar she started whining and crying like I was torturing her. She does not like it one bit. She was running around the house trying desperately to take it off. Its fun to see how this little pup reacts to new stimuli. I have never had a puppy only rescued older dogs and seeing her explore things is so fascinating and funny. Like the first time she listened to music, first time she got in the car and now first time with a collar. I just wanted to ask if your little babies reacted to the collar the first time and if you take the collar off once you come back from your walk or keep it on at all times? Thank you for any feedback |
Sadie was almost three when I got her. She had lived on a farm, and never wore anything around her neck. I could not believe it, but she adapted to it immediately. I think it made her feel secure on a leash, as she had been taken from her only home of almost three years. I don't put anything on her if I let her out to potty in my backyard. Otherwise, I use a harness. I just got her another car seat, for the back, and I use a harness at all times. Kate |
bunjee didn't take it very well either. he kept whining and trying to remove it. he tried scratching, biting, rubbing himself on the floor and against a towel. he still doesn't like it much, but he's getting used to it. however, the harness is a whole other story, he's still trying to bite that thing off. i keep bunjee's collar on at all times because i wanted him to get used to it and add the harness when i walk him. the collar is maining used for training and holding his id tag. |
thank you ladies :) |
I dont use a collar on Daisy, only a harness on the leash. That way you're not pulling on their necks, but their whole upper body..maybe try that? |
before i even got lexi i bought beautiful diamond collars. she wont wear them at all, plus the fact they are on good for them... the harness is the best way to go.... |
