Kyra's Big Day is Tomorrow :(. We have to take her in at 7:30 in the morning and pick her up at 3 in the afternoon. Not sure I will sleep at all I am so worried about her :(. She is just so tiny and so dependent on me it has me so scared :(. Please keep her and me in your prayers though it all |
She will be fine! Prayers sent for a smooth surgery and a quick and easy recovery. Hugs to you and her. Keep us updated. :) |
I will keep Kyra in my prayers,Charlene...and saying prayers for you too. |
Prayers for You and Kyra. I am sure she will do great! |
Prayers going out for Kyra's spay. I am sure she will be just fine. Is there any way you can wait at the Vet Office in a consultation room until the surgery is done and when she starts to wake up, you can then leave and come back and get her? This is what I did when I took Luci to have her's done in July. |
Good thoughts and blessing go out to you both |
My baby will be getting spay in 4 weeks. I am already nervous. Good luck. You are in my prayers. Please update on her. |
Kyra made it through it all ok according to the vet so now waiting on pins and needles until 3 when we can pick her up. Thanks for all your prayers everyone. |
I will keep her in my prayers. Hope all goes well. |
Tufty just had his berries juiced the other week and was back to himself in no time at all, good luck little one |
I'm just now seeing this. I'm so glad her surgery went fine. |

We just picked our baby up and she seems ok other than she doesnt want to eat or drink anything and just wants to lay in her bed. Is this normal? Have never had a little girl like this fixed so wanted to have heads up on everything. |
Keep her warm and wake her often (every 15-30 minutes), she still needs to rid her body of the anesthesia. Offer only very small amounts of water first, them a bit of food. Do you have Nutrical on hand? Give her a little bit of that if she refuses food after a few attempts, or if she gets shakey or acts a bit weird/off. Glad she had a successful surgery! |

My vet said that would be normal and to give her water and food a little at a time. Although as soon as we got home Ahi went straight to her bowl and ate the whole thing and dranks lots of water. She wasn't the typical patient.lol She even jumped off the bed (12") the next morning. I'm glad everything went ok. :) |
So happy to hear that your furbaby is doing fine! |

I hope the Vet gave you pain med's for her. I know when they are small like she is it can seem scary, but my Luci did fantastic and she was under 3 pounds. PM me if I can answer any questions for you. |
Just seeing your thread and am so glad Kyra is home and okay. My Jilly when I had her spaying and Tibbe with his neutering were both extremely out of it that first night home, ate, drank almost nothing and that had to be hand-offered them, water syringed into the pocket at edge of mouth. By the next day they were better but still iffy, had to be encouraged to eat, drink. By the 3rd. po day, they were pretty much normal except I wouldn't let them jump, play much or anything much but take it easy. Check her incision as the vet showed you and call if any questions. Be sure to keep that baby comfortable with the pain Rx. as prescribed and hopefully by this weekend, you will have a dog who is all back to mostly normal except you'll still probably limit certain activities a bit. |
Thank you all so much for your support. We tried the baby food and got her to eat most of a small jar from my fingers and also syringed 3 full of water. She went out to pee and is now resting again. And yes they gave her meds but she cannot have another dose until tomorrow morning. |

I am glad Kyra is safe and sound at home:) I agree with Kathy the pain meds might decrease her appetite. Georgie didn't eat much at all after his surgeries. Keep us posted on sweet Kyra. |
