about throwing up :sickie:we not to sure what going on with fancy. but we do know she not car sick since she been throwing up at home. she did it 2 time today we not to sure if she has allergies. but she don't do it that often either. but then again we think that she just might ate to much yesterday we did give her some turkey but she did have some doggies snaks before the turkey. the throw up was kind of like a yellow looking something like that. since she did it when I was gone and mom was watching her. but the other 2 yorkie terrier one is a 4 year old and the other is a puppy and they don't get sick. they eat from the table a lot. I am not to sure about my cousin dog I do know it's an older one. but far as I know he don't get sick either. but we don't know if they are not liying to us. so I thought that I would ask u guys since there are more of u and some of u just might have one that has done this before. but then again she did this last year around this time when she was a puppy she got sick in oct and nov by dec she is just fine. thanks for all the help. |
What kind of snacks? Was it yellow and foamy? Yorkies are prone to pancreatitis so I would be very careful about table food. Has it only been today that she is vomiting? |
the snacks wasn't yellow softes or something like that. I am not to sure on the name of the snacks. no it's not just today. I think she did it one other day this week not to sure. but she has done it some this month but not much and few last month. I think it was yellow and foamy now u said it. I think that what she told me. |
Usually yellow and foamy means they haven't eaten, and that's bile (stomach acid) that they're throwing up. but you said she had turkey. I would think the turkey didn't sit well with here. Did the turkey have skin on it? Thanksgiving is the day that vets get the most emergency calls bc of people feeding their dogs fatty foods like turkey skin, gravy, ham, etc. and also foods that have been cooked with onion (poisonous to dogs). I would not give any more table food for Fancy. She may be the one that is sensitive and she can get pancreatitis. Once she gets it, eating something that triggers it will get her sick again. It's not worth it. If you want to give them treats you can give them veggies like tomato, carrots, green beans. They love that just as much. Please don't give fatty or salty meats such as steak, hot dog, cold cuts, etc. Has she stopped throwing up already? Make sure she drinks water too so not to get dehydrated. |
no she didn't have the skin I was the one that ate that part of the turkey. but it didn't come up when she throw up. what foods we do give her don't have anything on it. it's just plan but yesterday was the first time she had turkey with season on it. we never tried tomato on her. I know she can't do raw carrots but she does fine with the cooked ones. the only meat we have giving her is beaf chichken some turkey. but the meat she love is chicken. but it is plan with nothing on it. but we should have started out on some season to get her use to thaat when she was a puppy. I just think she not use to that kind of things. she only did it the 2 times that we was gone and she been fine ever since then. but she still does sleep a lot. but the cooler weather want to make me sleep a lot too. best that she doing alright. |
What are you seasoning the chicken with...I've always heard NO seasoning what so ever....plain boiled chicken, plain rice, no salt, no butter...nothing. whatever you seasoned it with may have caused her to be sick...onions for example is toxic to dogs...heard the same about garlic, also turkey is too fatty... |
I am not to sure what they used on it since we got it from my aunt house. |
I wouldn't be giving my yorkie anything that has been seasoned...some of these babies have such sensitive tummies, you never know what can be the trigger to making them sick...JMO |
A small dog suffers more from eating people food than a larger dog does. Eating table food can cause pancreatitis in dogs. The yellow bile she threw up is caused by a stomach upset. The liver starts to secrete more bile when there is a digestive problem. Vets say they have the most sick dogs around this time of year because people give the dogs more food from the table and other treats that are not healthy. It could be the other dogs were better able to tolerate the food than your dog was. You should limit her treats to only once in a while and make sure they are healthy treats. Most of what you buy in the grocery store and the department and pet stores are not healthy and can cause some serious problems in the pet over time. Read the ingredient list. If there is stuff on there that you cannot say or identify then don't feed it to your dog. |
