I use baby shampoo on pups. We all Wen by Chaz Dean now. Wen has kids cleansing conditioners, I'd use it on a pup if I had one here now. |
i started using splash and shine on my baby and i love it! you should give it a try . here's the website for it All Products From Yorkie Splash and Shine |
Some baby shampoos like the traditional Johnsons actually have a high Ph that can dry skin. WEN is a great all natural shampoo. I use the Yorkies Splash and Shine products. There are other good all natural shampoos and conditioner out there that work well. Most regular shampoos have sulfates that will dry the skin if used regularly. You have to really read the labels carefully because some will say that they have a natural product in them but actually it is a sulfate product with one natural ingredient in it. All natural products act differently than most sulfate products. They don't lather as much usually but you don't needs tons of bubbles to get your pet clean. As long as you get the product down to the skin and throughout the fur you will have a clean shiny baby when you are done. Yorkie Splash and Yorkie Shine | Yorkie Shampoo and Yorkie Conditioner This stuff smell great for days and the hair really shines. |
I use aroma paws as its all natural. I think the site is AROMA PAWS: CHEMICAL FREE GROOMING PRODUCTS FOR YOUR DOG |
I use wen |
Another Yorkie Splash and Shine fan here. |
I've been using Tropiclean on Toki which I don't have any problems with but I would love to try the Splash and Shine! |
I also am a fan of IV San Bernard It is a more expensive line but the PEK conditioner is great! |
We use Suave shampoo and conditioner. I had a pek that had super bad allergies and it was the only thing I could use on her to keep her from going bald. I've continued to use it with my two girls. I also use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny after their bath (wet hair) to keep the matts/tangles at bay. I use it on my curly hair and found it works great on my girls. I think Pet Silk is the equivalent for doggies though. |
I have always used baby shampoo. It smells great, is mild and best of all is inexpensive. It doesn't bother him if it gets in his eyes, either. |
If it's actually Guinness's bath time he gets Pet-head, if he invites himself into my shower he gets Fekkai or Philosophy same at my day's house and if he invites himself in on the husband's shower he gets Pantene. |
I use earthbath |

I don't like Splash and Shine! I tried it because of the great reccomendations here. I don't know if it's just my girl's fur or what, but she was horrible to brush out after -- and not just waxy after the first time like it says. Not to mention that we don't care for the smell, even my kids complained that she was stinky after I'd use it. We've been using a puppy shampoo and Pantene conditioner and she's MUCH easier to brush out and smells better. |
