help! DH was cutting Jasmine's nails and he accidently cut one too short. She is bleeding lot. Has this ever happen to you before? What did you do to stop bleeding? |
if you have corn starch put it on there. we used baking soda on our lab and it stopped the bleeding too. Ouch. |
make a paste out of the baking soda and water and put it on there. Pick up some quick stop (i think it's called and keep it handy when doing nails). |
I have done that once to Maddie and once to Libby. I used flour to stop the bleeding, but found that after a while, they were licking it and causing it to bleed again. I then put a tiny baby bootie over their paw to keep them from licking it and then it didn't start bleeding again. |
thanks. finally stopped bleeding. trying her from licking it |
For future nail cutting, have a styptic powder on hand. You can find it anywhere pet supplies are sold. This is the one I sell in my store, from Bio-Groom: Bio-Groom Dog Sure Clot Styptic Powder |
OWEE! I got chills reading that, lol I'm so paranoid when I cut Joels nails Hope your babies toe feels better :D |
Jasmine was so good during this. DH and I were the ones who were scared. Everything is ok. She is doing great. She is herself again except extra thirsty. |
