venting Argh! We have some neighbors who let their dogs run around the neighborhood. The dogs would poop in our yard. Why can't people take care of their dogs! Also our neighbor has this outdoor dog who barks non stop. When he hears us outside, he barks and barks and barks. The barking scares Jasmin and then she goes crazy. |
Those ar e people that should not have a dog. For the dogs running around the neighborhood, I would call the human society or animal control. It would be horrible if the dogs got hit or they hurt someone else's |
You might check with code inforsment in your area and see what the rules are about barking dogs. We have our neighbors phone number, they didnt even know that their dog was barking nonstop. So,she barks,we call politely. |
I would be scooping up their dogs poop and leaving it for them with a note. And I would call the police for noise violations. But I am a mean person. |
i should. Even before we got jasmin we can't even go into our yard without the dog going crazy and barking non stop. Can't even enjoy quiet time in the backyard. Thanks everyone for letting me vent. |
That is what we are here for. you should make the calls. |
outdors they make stop bark for outdoors, you just point in the direction and turn it on it's pretty cheap too. i don't remember who sells it but it's in one of the dog catalogs. you could turn it on before you go out side and maybe the dogs will stop before you get outside. idk it's worth a try |
I feel your pain, OP! I live on a dead end street that only has five houses on it, mine being the house on the dead end. I have cousins that live on the opposite end, and their adult age son and his young daughter live with them. They have a little chihuahua that has NEVER been trained to walk on a leash or harness (even though I GAVE them a couple of each) and refuse to train her or pick up after her! The little girl even asked my DH one day when he was walking our boys what he was doing when he used a poop bag to clean up after them. Apparently, OUR driveway and yard is "ground zero" destination for the daily walks of their dog, even though we have let them know that we have driveway sensors that alert us when anyone comes in our yard. It always upsets our boys, and have to listen to their commotion. DH confronted the son one day, and HE had the nerve to cuss MY husband!:mad: Some people just DO NOT get it! WTH? |
I'm sorry the neighborhood dogs are bothering you so badly :( If there is a leash law, I would talk to the owners and/or call animal control on the ones running around. I can't say much about the barky one. My 3 year old boy is an indoor dog but he goes out in the back yard for play sessions and to potty. He's very protective of the home (not aggressive). He is just a very good guard dog. If anyone walks by or rides by on a bike or motorcycle, he barks constantly until they are gone. I've tried all I can for 3 years to get him to stop when I say stop, but he won't. Only dog I've ever had that just zones me out in those instances. So, I know he annoys people. I feel badly but I'm not going to NOT let him outside, ya know? |
Call Animal Control. If you can catch the dog on your property lock it in the garage and AC will take it away and fine the owners. We have a dog in the neighborhood who has always wandered and driven the rest of the pets and people around here nuts so a few of us finally banded together and got the cops and AC involved and for the most part now the dog stays in her own yard. It sucks that we had to do it but it was long overdue. That dog had been hit by a car twice (that the owners know of) and shot with a BB gun yet they never learned their lesson. It took our cop neighbor calling the local cops for anything to be done. |
