Ripoff Report | Second Chance Yorkie Rescue Inc.Tanisha Breton | Complaint Review: 968794

Yorkiemom1 11-14-2012 02:21 PM

This Tanisha person really gets around.....There seem to be enough people here on YT that KNOW HER WELL!!!

gracielove 11-14-2012 04:37 PM

I think the old "looking for a mentor" thread was about her. Even the other backyard breeders don't like her.

:sidesplt: That cracked me up! We had another member a while back who wanted to start a rescue for tinies, only those yorkies under 5 pounds would be admitted. Hopefully, people are careful to which charities and rescues they give their money to. Otherwise, these crooks will come up with scam after scam. Once you scam people on the internet, the FBI can get involved, she better account for every cent she takes in, or she could be in big trouble.

GuinnessStout 11-14-2012 06:19 PM

As much as I would love to I can't because if I ever got busted using my clearance for "fun" it would not be pretty for me lol

Another name to add to her list is Mason because it appears she hides behind her kids name too.

I wonder if she really thinks she can make money posing as a rescue. does she not know rescues have like ZERO funds and it's so hard to get people to donate money? Or is she looking to get a 501c3 status for something else? Tax exempt status or what?

GuinnessStout 11-14-2012 07:28 PM

Well she got enough for that little girl's surgery two buy TWO males and it appears that one was a GrEAT purchase for her lol enough to get the attention of AKC and tick them off.

Verbena 11-14-2012 08:15 PM

Wow. . . .this is stuff you just can't make up. This is such a sad awful truth about the society we live in. That people like this get away everything

According to her website you are right . I copied this from there.

We want to make a Second Chance Yorkie & Small Dog Rescue a recognized non-profit 501c3 foster home organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, neglected, abused or puppy mill dogs. Once we receive a dog, we will provide love, nurturing, nutrition, medical care, including spay and neuter, and any necessary rehabilitation, socialization and help find a forever home. We will be work together with our local animal shelter and humane society to help homeless and neglected dogs find their way into safe, permanent and loving homes giving them a new leash on life. We also specialize in sick and injured pets, geriatric pets, surrenders and those who have simply run out of time.

I doubt if she'll be paying any money out like most rescues do, this is more about getting donations, and free tiny dogs and selling those dogs as rescues. How much money she makes depends on her marketing skills.

gracielove 11-17-2012 03:51 PM

Do you really think she can get away with starting a "rescue?" Oh, I hope not.

New Super Hero: Yorkie Avenger.

Coton Momma 11-18-2012 01:30 PM

Good grief. And even after all that she is still breeding and selling pups. Disgusting.

yorkietalkjilly 11-18-2012 02:08 PM

She just rolls with the punches it seems like. Whenever she's knocked down in anything, she pops up somewhere else! As long as she's got a website, a sad story or two and some video of a cute but very pitiful dog, she will get money from those that don't know any better.

capt_noonie 11-18-2012 03:06 PM

Can you imagine if she used all that energy and time for something good? sking too much from her I guess.

jeane 11-19-2012 07:57 AM

That's disgusting

gracielove 11-19-2012 10:01 AM

Doesn't creating a charitable organization have to go through the IRS? I helped create an organization years ago but we had a lawyer that volunteered to do the paper work that got us incorporated. It was long enough ago that I don't remember all the details. I just don't think she could get through the hoops by herself. I'm sure she can think of many underhanded ways to proceed though.

Nancy I so agree with you, unfortunately some folks are sooooooooooooo gullible

Teegy 11-19-2012 10:07 AM

when most registered responsible legal rescues won't allow persons to adopt dogs when they have young kids, how can she run one when she has kids that abuse the dogs she owns causing broken necks?

BiewerYorkie 11-19-2012 10:18 AM

I only donate to ONE rescue, a lady in Nebraska that rescues mainly Puppy Mill Dogs. I have been on her yahoo group for a couple of years. I can't often send money since George and I are sort of living from hand to mouth but I DO manage to do so occasionally and also send her dog "stuff"...toys, chews, clothes, leashes and collars a couple of times a year.

I also don't often give to the street panhandlers here in Houston and there are PLENTY. Some of them have cars nicer than mine and the "homeless" ones tend to have the whitest white clothes I have EVER seen.

But, I seem to have a "knack" for sensing WHO is honestly in need. I carry around bottles of water during the summer and when I can afford it, I carry gift cards to local fast food places.

There was a very young guy two weeks ago standing by a McDonalds. I asked him if he wanted a burger, fries and drink. His face lit up and then he asked me for Sprite since he didn't drink "dark drinks". When I brought it back to him he put his little sign under his arm, grinned broadly and took off across the street and started to eat.

You know what my friends? Sometimes it IS better to give than receive. Doing this type of thing can give you a great feeling of satisfaction. If everyone on this list did that type of thing even a couple times a year, do you know how many people we could make happy??? True, sometimes you don't know if the person is REALLY needy but GOD knows OUR motives and that is the most important thing of all.

Off my soapbox...

Louise and Zachary

Biewer there is a special place in the world for folk like you. Love tmyour unselfish soul

Teegy 11-19-2012 10:37 AM

I fed some homeless people one year I got a nice Christmas bonus. I went to a local donut shop, bought a bunch of hot chocolates and sandwiches and my friends helped me pass them out. Can't afford to do these things often but I do when I can.
And I sure as heck won't be sending scam Meister Breton a red sous

I try to do stuff like that myself but get ticked off from time to time.. Like last week while looking for a rescue puppy I saw a post on Craigslist saying her brother was on disability and wanted a puppy they were looking for one free and that his family would pay for food and vet bills.... Soo I sent a message asking if they had a locate shelter, I was thinking I would call the shelter pay the adoption fee in his name, well the reply was yes but it was $120 umm never heard of one that high but whatever so then I said how can I know it would not be for fighting or abused and I was told they would keep in touch and send pictures blah blah blah so I said you know what I will find a puppy and drive it the hour and half drive to you..... The next message I get was oh ok can you take pictures of all my options and send them to me where I can pick out what you buy me!! Ummm ok maybe I am wrong but that ticked me off... You could have said could it be a small breed or large or could it not a certain breed BUT let me pick what you buy me then drive to me!!!

gracielove 11-19-2012 02:12 PM

I guess I don't think about giving as something that is not just a natural part of life. When one has a home and enough to buy food and pay the bills, gratitude for such abundance should be shown by helping others that may not be in such a blessed position.
There are many reputable charitable organizations to give to especially at this time of year. There are a multitude of real shelters for people and animals plus rescue organizations that a person can give a helping hand to. The types like the one this thread was started about should not even be considered a charity. With so many good people that reach out to help others through out the year it should not be hard to find a way to help others that really need it.
