Cotton or Silky?

I would also like to know what my two are. Cotton or silky.
Minnies hair feels like silk yet the top of her head her hair is so long it looks a little cottony. Mickeys hair combs easy too but his feels so much thicker and rough feeling they are totally different when you feel them. What do you all think?Heres two pictures the first one is Minnie second picture is Mickey.

Minnie looks silky. How old is Mickey? He looks like he still has some puppy hair??????

Minnie looks like a silk coat and Mickeys looks like it could be a cotton coat. I am just basing this on what my dogs look like they have both type of coats. The only thing that throws me off is Chachi has a cotton coat and it is very hard to comb through so maybe I am wrong. His hair is also dryer looking than jewels who has a silk coat.

I'm just guessing, ya know, but if they don't mat I'd say silky. Perhaps the roughness you think you feel may be broken ends???? :D Just a thought. What do I know? :rolleyes:

hi debbie, minnie appears silky to me, mickey appears modified. both have gorgeous coats and i love them! i'm not saying my word is the gospel, but thats all i can see from pics. if only i could rub my fingers through them... i'm gonna say it once again...I LOVE YOUR MINNIE!

ps- do either of their coats feel cool to the touch even when the heat is on in your home?

im having the same problem as you. i have no idea about mistys coat either. all i can say is, you have beautiful babies :D

debbie, then i think she is definitley silk coated. her pics say alot too!

You can't really tell with pictures but I think Mickey's coat looks wirey to me.. Is it rough? But his head doesn't appear to be that way??? Minnie looks silky. Do any of their coats get matted quickly? if they do then that would be a sign of Cotton, also if you bring them into a dark room with all the lights shut off you can see what color their eyes glow, when you put a flash light on them. That is supose to tell you what their coat is.. Not sure if it works though, as my Bell glows yellow and she is cotton and my Lilly glows yellow and she isn't, she has a wire coat.(but it might be becasue she is still very young) :eek:

That's such a good point and subject to bring up ;)

I am one that doesn't trust this theory though. I've also had cotton coat glow goldish yellow and a true silky coat do the same :confused:

I have also had a silk coat glow green in the same conditions??

Sometimes I get pure red eyes.

So I cannot put alot of faith in the eyes on camera thing but I'd like to hear any one's input on it, I've always been a little curious about this.

Your right Mickeys head feels silky but his back feels rough and no neither get matted at all.well I take that back we did have one bad mat once and that was in Minnies topnot.......... I have seen Mickeys eyes flash green and Minnies eyes flash red ,pink and yellow.???????

When Mickey isn't brushed does he look really messy?? Kind of like my Lilly on the left?? (I know both look like a mess in this picture), but wanted you to get what I meant by messy. Lilly has a wire coat, just like her dad. But her head and roots are feeling softer, so I'm hoping it will change. :p
