There is a Mouse in the House! 1 Attachment(s) We recently moved into a new house and brought a lot of stuff from storage inside the new house! We thought that we had cleaned everything off pretty well before we brought the stuff in, but apparently we were wrong! Clyde my oldest Yorkshire terrier (3) was pointing, intently staring, shaking, and sometimes barking at this old record player we brought into the house. He was so intently starting at it, that we decided to investigate! What do you know, there was a little mouse behind living inside the stereo! Thankfully Clyde has been well trained enough to be able to call him off from prey, and so he didn't attack the mouse (though I know he wanted to chase it) and he didn't go anywhere near it after he showed us where it was. I'm so happy to have these little terriers in my life! I would have never known that there was a mouse living in my house if it weren't for Clyde lol. Has anyone else had any funny experiences of your dog trying to show or tell you something that was hiding in the house? The only problem is that the mouse got away >.< ... so we will be spending the next couple of days trying to locate where it is hiding! |
Clyde is just darling! What a wonderful terrier face! He was sure going to get that old mouse, wasn't he? I think them displaying their true ratter instincts is just so cute. They are so businsslike when they are after their prey. Go, Clyde! He's so cute. Welcome to YT to you and Clyde! |
Oh no |
wow I can't believe he did not chase it, he is a cute little guy. We lived in an old junky house that we had plans to tear down and we started to have a mouse problem. One day pre Lola, I was at work and got a call from my nephew, he was paniced because one of my former yorkies killed one in the living room. he wanted to know what to do, I said THROW it out. We had been lax about the mice since they had only been in the basement which we did not use, but we went out and got some traps right after that. LOL I was glad when the house was finally torn down. One time my sisters little cockatoo or cockateel (LOL don't know much about birds) flew down off her perch and in a nano second another one of my former yorkies, Kirby was on her in a nano second, he had her pinned down but thankfully my BIL was near by and got him off her before the poor little bird was history. yorkies are small but they started out as rat hunters so most still have a lot of that instinct in them. |
Good job Clyde!! Hopefully you find where the mouse hid :p |
They are such good mousers! Way to go, Clyde!! |
