Winter harness Hey guys, I've been looking for a warm harness to take Gizmo out in. I recently got this at it fits, however the bottom is close to his pee pee, and I think he might get it wet. Are all coats/shirts right by a boy's thingie? Are dresses really just for girls? They seem to offer the most warmth. |

The link is not working right |

Yes, unfortunately many clothes for boys seem to to be about an inch too long down "there". I just wash them when they get stinky. Columbo just wears his regular harness. He has several different weight coats and jackets, depending on the weather. I look for ones that have the hole for the harness loop to poke through. I've also found some that I just had to have that didn't have a harness hole, so I did a buttonhole stitch on the sewing machine on them and then cut it open like a buttonhole. I've done that with sweaters, too, but you have to be sure to do it so that you don't drop a sweater stitch and have it come unraveled. |

Those are adorable. |
I love those winter harnesses. So cute! My male wears sweaters or hoodies in the winter with his harness under them. This might be an option for warmth? |

Maybe, just maybe, this will be Harry's first item of 'clothing' that he keeps on for 5 seconds.....:xfingers: ;) :D Sally + harry x |
That is nice. Worth the price to give it a try |
Just ordered one for Amy. Can't wait to get it and put it on her. Thanks for telling us about it. |
If you have a step in harness you could buy him a coat with a hole in it for the D ring. You have to watch though, some have the hole and some don't. Gracie wears a cute little step in harness that Chattiesmom her on YT makes. I just put her coat on over it and stick the D ring trough. It might give you a wider selection of coats you could try. |
I usually just buy winter coats and then I use a separate resizeable step in harness that I usually hook from the front so I usually just put a winter coat on first and then the harness. His leash is hooked on to the front so it only works if I put the harness over his coat. This year, I bought him the Hurtta dog winter coat and it is nice to have his tummy area covered but leaves enough room for his pee pee area. |
I'm glad I could help! This forum has been a great resource to me. The winter harness is working well, the closeness to his pee pee isn't really an issue. It's actually easier for me to pick him up in it. |
My two have several coats some with the button hole some not. On the ones that didn't I just purchased and attached a D ring myself to them. Mine hate harnesses so I usually always put them in something with a D ring. |
2 Attachment(s) I just had Michelle (Jadabug on here) make us coats. I get tired of the coats not fitting correctly. So she did a custom one. We were so pleased! I know that she could probably make one for a boy too. Then it being down to far wouldn't be an issue! Attachment 377242 Attachment 377243 |
