Groomers - Ear Cleaning My adult Yorkie has always gone to the same groomer, and each time she has removed the hair inside of her ears. During the last visit, she said one of her new groomers said that Yorkies do not need to get the hair removed from their ears. What happens when your fur baby sees the groomer. Does the groomer remove hair inside of their ears. Thanks. Kate |
Mine doesn't do any removal of hair. |
Good to know. Thanks. |
Yes mine do. They just pluck it out of there. You can actually do it yourself.(Ahi's groomer showed me how) It is to help prevent water/moisture build up so they don't get ear infections. It doesn't hurt them. :) |
That is what my groomer has been doing. She puts a powder product lightly inside of her ear, and then plucks the hair out. I have watched this being done, and my girl does not mind it. Now, getting her nails trimmed is another story. Thanks. |
My vet told me it needed to be done regularly after Yumi got an ear infection. This was before she started going to the groomers. I'm not sure if the usually do it or not since I always ask them to lol |
All of the groomers I spoke to around my area remove ear hair. They all said that they wax it so that it is done faster. Blazer had a little scabbing after his first ear cleaning/hair removal. |
I groom my own and have never plucked the hair in their ears. |
I normally remove Callie's ear hair but if I don't they normally do. I feel it is very important to remove the ear hair or it will hold on to moisture and cause ear infections. |
Does ear plucking hurt? I watched a video and it creeped me out, lol |
I've pulled some of yumi's. She acts more like it tickles than hurts unless I accidentally get one that is more to the outside of the ear. That happened twice she jumps and won't hold still anymore. I just decided I sucked at it and felt bad when I got one I wasn't supposed to so the groomer does hers now... |
