just wondering
 
how big my yorkie will get as an adult. She is currently 5 months and weighs in at 5.6 lbs. When do they stop growing?

Mine has held steady since 1 year 3 month point.

Everyone on here has told me to double the weight at about 6 months, that will be their adult weight. :) Hope this helps!!

Mine was 3 lbs at 1 year old and is now 5 yrs. old and weigh 4 lbs. Hope this helps. They don't seem to grow much after a year old.

Mine was 3 lbs. at a year old and weighs 4 lbs. now at 5 years old. She never gained after her first birthday. Hope this helps.

well it is hard to give an exact weight but she does have at least another 7 months of growing to do ( most yorkies are full grown in height by 7 months and adult weight by 1 year but they can continue to gain weight after that )..

If i had to guess i would say your little one would be 9 to 10 pounds as adult....

There really is not 100% way to tell how big they are gonna be. I would say around a year is when they stop growing.

Ah man! There goes my hope of having a "small" dog that I can carry around whenever I want! LOL! Just kidding, sort of. I was hoping (and still am) that Blazer won't get any bigger than his mom. He's getting close though... He's 5 months and about 6 lbs already. Oh well, I love him no matter his size and I suppose him being on the bigger end of the Yorkie scale is safer for him with our other dog and with our kids.

My boys are full brothers and had growth spurts when they were 11 months old. All depends on genetics. Some reach full size early, others grow later.

My guess is Blazer is going to be 8-10 pounds, but you never really know. That is still really small :)

10 pounds is still pretty small. Mine is 16 pounds and she still seems small to me.

LOL! Yeah, I know, it was meant more as joke than anything. =) I think it is so funny to see how they change in size and how size can't be predicted at birth. Blazer was the first of 6 in his litter and he was right in the middle size wise. The only female was the third largest at birth but now, at 5 months, she is the smallest at only 2.5 lbs! The runt is about the same size as my Blazer now! I haven't heard anything on size about the other three- two "big" boys and another medium boy.

I think it is so funny how people will buy a runt and expect it to stay small always. Havent' they ever read or watched Clifford the Big Red Dog? LOL! =D
