Flea protection OK so I send my hubbie to the vet to get Frontline for Freddie our yorkie and my cat...the cat does not go outside at all, but of course Freddie does and has had a bout with fleas this fall. Anyway my hubbie tells the girl that Fred is only 4 lbs....the dosage is up to 22 lbs. and she suggested to put the whole thing on him....OF COURSE I DID NOT....I just put a drop on his shoulder blade and a little on his back towards the tail. I noticed this am he was still itching a little...my question is IF I find a flea on him when I get home, could I put just a little more on him? Any help would be appreciated. |
I think the 1st application has to be the whole dose for it to be effective. I only put it along the back of their neck & shoulder blades, where they can't reach, but it still gets on their hair. Since the whole dose is a lot, you can put half & put the other half the next day. I do only use half the recommended amount on my 5 #'ers as maintenance. |
