With Lollie, I use a show lead in the ring and for conformation training. I use step-in harnesses for regular walks. I don't believe that a perfect 100% escape proof harness or collar exists. Basic obedience and teaching a dog to walk politely on a leash is the key to ensuring safe walks. |
I agree that the Buddy Belt is a fantastic harness for a small dog. The Choke Free shoulder harness is also very good. The traditional harness is not a good option for a small dog and they can get out of them very easily. It is very possible to teach a dog to heel with a good small dog harness. They do not encourage pulling and you can do a quick correction with the harness without having to touch the delicate trachea area. |
1 Attachment(s) Like many said ~ the collar I use is a tag only collar, slips over their head (no buckles or D-ring for leash) & the harness for the leash attachment. I've tried several harnesses, but I have one escape artist & have recently gotten Buddy Belts for them. So far, no escapes :) I have attached a picture of their collar - I love it!! :aimeeyork |

I use collars for tags and like a necklace lolol but harness for walks seems safer for Sadie Ann plus she feels more secure and walks great |
