What is with the licking??? I know dog's love to give puppy kisses... But does my table, couch, pants, shirt.. etc lol need to be licked nonstop until completely soaking wet?? Lol:bleh: |
Sounds like obsessive licking, a displacement behavior usually used when they are bored, stressed or anxious. Usually it is from anxiety when they are unsure - of what to do with themselves, what to do next or of a particular person, persons or other animals. People drink or smoke, dogs lick or chew. |
Greetings from one Guinness to another! My dog Guinness is a therapy dog. When we visit people at hospitals and nursing homes, we tell them that we call him Guinness because he can't hold his licker, that's L.I.C.K.E.R! Lol, :animal36 |

1 Attachment(s) I wish this one was clearer too... Poor Santa looks completely a** whipped by this point but as you can Guinness's tongue is still going lol |
Oh, those are just priceless. I can see his little tongue still going in the second one! Santa looks a little frazzled! lol. Those both are just different from anything I've ever seen. I wish I could get one of Tibbe going after Santa with his tongue this year but he's not much of a licker! Maybe I could slip some peanut butter on Santa's nose! Think he'd notice? |
Lol might could try the I think you have something on your cheek let me get it for you lol As I am typing this I can hear him behind me making sure everybody's pillows are licked clean before we go to bed lol it really must be an anxiety type thing with him. |
1 Attachment(s) Forgot I had a better copy |
On the 1st pic, the chair and Santa are clear, only the pup is blurry... bc he is the Quicker Licker Upper, lol! I hate to say this, but have you asked him to stop? (Praise and reward when he does stop, even if it's only a few seconds) |

The pics are cute. I agree praise and reward might help. |
Kathy, you have got to let me make a copy of that for my Christmas ScreenSaver!!! That clearer copy is so adorable! That's one of the cutest action/reaction shots ever ever ever ever! So typical of a dog and then Santa's reaction is adorable, too. Just one of life's cutest moments & you have a picture of it! Some Greeting Card Company should make that into a Christmas Card!!!!!!!! It says so much. Oh, my goodness! |
