Oh my goodness this is awful and so horrible. I am so glad that you are both OK. You do really need to go to the Doctor and be checked out. |
What a terrible happening! I'm so glad, that you and Yaz, are okay. It was wonderful of those two men to come to your aid!. I think I'd change my walking shoes to heavy steel toed ones. I hope the police throw the book at this person; he deserves time in jail! A nice treat for you both sounds like just the ticket:) |
I am so glad you did not let that jerk take your dog! How crazy can he be to do that to you! We must all be careful with our precious Yorkies, Never leave them in the car, someone will break a window and steal them. We live in a world where people have no heart for dogs like we do. Be very careful and its just too bad you couldn't kick him where it hurts the most! |
Oh my goodness that sounds very scary! I am glad you and her are ok. |

I don't know where he lives at this point, but I hope the courts take this incident serious enough along with his history, to send him away for a long time! Quote:

Hello to another buckeye-I was born in Toledo, OH. A girl tried to steal my Jaeger while I was walking him the other day, grabbed his leash and ran off with him. I'm here with you, and so glad Yazi is okay. |
Oh Carla, the chills that went through me when I read your post! I cannot believe someone would be so bold in broad daylight! Thank God you and little Yazmin are OK! I cannot imagine how scary that must have been for you! BTW, we use Buddy Belts, too and I have never been so grateful we do! Even if I just had to snatch the dogs up to get away from another animal, I know I could do so without them getting hurt. Thank goodness Yaz had hers on! |
So glad the two of you are ok!! |
oh my goodness how horrible. I am so sorry to hear that you and little yazi went through that. Thank goodness you are both okay. |
Omgosh! I would have been so mad, furious, and scared as heck all at one time!! So glad you both are ok, people are just completely crazy! |
that is horrible.. im so happy you got her back... sometimes the world we live in terrifies me.... |
I'm so glad you and yasmin are ok...you do need to go and see your doc though to make sure everything is ok with you. This is sooo scary, mine too wear buddy belts...now really glad I invested in them. I'm so sorry this happened to you. |
That is chilling! OMG...how horrible. It happens so fast...you cannot be overly prepared. I am glad you had such a good grip and had some kind help...'evil demons' are roaming the streets...I am just so happy that some 'wonderful angels' are too. Hugs |
OMG, I am so glad you and Yazmin are okay. This world is becoming such a scary place. I hope that man gets what he has coming to him. I am going to be much more careful when I am walking Tink now. |

When I read or hear stories of stolen pets, my heart just breaks for their owners and the poor pets who are no longer being called by their names and are missing the love of their true owners. :( Quote:

I needed a good laugh after these past few days as I sure ancora_imparo could use a laugh about now also ! :D I wish I would've been as Brave and had your Courage at the time this was happening to me. I'm always proud to say Yazi has 6 Buddy Belts because of the beautiful colors and how they're designed, but that day I realized because of the harness design, I was not going to let go of her leash no matter what! |
I'm so sorry this happened to you and Yazi, glad you're both ok. Please get checked out at your dr's tho to be sure. I was horrified to read this, this is the reason I never take my 2 little ones out walking unless my husband is with me. They don't walk very far anyways and we usually use their enclosed stroller. They are only 3.5 lbs each , seniors both blind so it would be tragic to loose them. I have them on a short leash out in the yard or around people. I just don't trust anyone. In the back of my mind I have a vision that someone could possibly do what happened to you. Some people walk their dogs on those long leashes, WRONG, keep them close and away from STRANGERS, like you would your human kids. I hope this will be a lesson to those that have little dogs that can be scooped up and stolen or even picked up in their yards by hawks !. The same could happen with wild animals ( coyote, fox, or alligators ) doing the same thing. Thank you for telling us your horribe story, by doing so you have helped many people and probably will save a lot of little furbabies from getting stolen. God bless you and your furbabies. |
Carla, I am still in shock that this happened to you. I am so relieved that Yazmin is safe and sound at home with you, and I am very sorry to hear that you were physically harmed by this horrible person. Praying that your pain is like a bruise and that it will go away soon. Please do see a doctor if you are not better tomorrow. I am thankful that the 2 men came to your aid. I have to restrain myself from saying what I think of the man who did this to you and Yazi. I am praying for your peace and well-being. You should be able to take your little doggie out for a walk in the middle of the day and not have to worry about such things. {{{{hugs}}}} |
:( I am so sorry that happened to you, and am so glad that you still have your baby with you. That had to of been so very scary for both you and Yazi. |
Oh my . . I just read the post. I am so very glad that you and little Yazmin are ok. I am thankful that there is still a lot of good people in the world. Those guys saved you from maybe getting hurt even more. Lots of hugs go out to you and Yazmin. I think that you need to get a can of pepper spray. |

:thumbup: maybe two cans of spray |
Thank god your baby is safe and you are safe. How so very scary -it's amazing how we find the strength within to fight for our own, I will tear someone apart if they try to hurt my babies. I haven't read through all the posts, but can someone tell me where I can purchase a buddy belt - I'm not comfortable with my harness now :( Is it crazy that I'm afraid to take my babies for walks in the neighborhood or even go anywhere with them? I am so fearful people will see where I live and try to break in (I have an alarm, but was thinking of cameras too) I live in an enclosed community, not the type of area crime is an issue, but I'm just so afraid something will happen to my lils, people can be so envious :( |
OMG how horrible and frightening! Thank God you and your baby is ok! |
Wow in broad day light in front of busy stores, who would think such a think could happen. So glad you are both safe. What did they say about him having access to any reports with your home address on it, sure how the police are not forced to givet that type of info out. |
what a complete creep! so thankful you held onto her and those two men helped you! that is just the worst!! thanks for sharing with us. and again so glad everything turned out ok. |
omg! I am in shock that someone would do this and it gives me chills to think that it could happen to any of us. I hope you and Yaz are getting some rest and feeling better. |

I can understand why you would be fearful of taking your little ones out alone. With them being so small, even a child could snatch them up so easily! I have to say though, until you mention little ones being taken by Hawks and other wild animals, I didn't realized what an impact this incident really had on me! It made me take notice of my own title of this thread. This man picking up Yazi and with one swooping motion... then she disappeared! His actions reminded me of a bird swooping down and pick something up and I couldn't get that image out of my mind! If I'd been thinking more clearly, I would've realized how insensitive this would be to others who have lost their little ones to Hawks and other birds of prey! I can only imagine how devastating and heartbreaking this had to be for their owners and I pray I haven't offended anyone and if I have, I'm truly very sorry. :( Yazi\'s less than 2 years old, has a lot of energy, loves going for walks down the Blvd. and the attention she gets from all the shop owners and strangers I\'ve allowed to pet her along the way. I\'ve actually encouraged her not to fear strangers and wanted her to be well socialized in public. Since this incident, I\'ve wondered if this is now a big mistake! Because she is so friendly towards strangers, this may be why she didn\'t bark, growl, or even try to break away. If I can get my nerve up to walk her down the Blvd. in the future, I\'m checking into purchasing pepper spray to carry with me. A store on line has different types, one to use on humans and one to use safely on animals. I\'m also thinking it may be better not to dress her up during our walks because I know this brings a lot of attention to her also. |
Follow through, press the charges....omg how crazy..glad you are both ok |
