Just dropped Bailey off at the vet. He's getting neutered today. I knew it would be hard to hand him over and now I'm sitting here worried about the little guy. He's also getting micro chipped. I know it will be ok but momma is a mess. He had both testicles showing but one snuck back up so they have to do an additional incision to go up in there and find it. He's 8 months old tomorrow. What should I expect when I pick him up. I have to be there a 4:00 and it can't get here soon enough. :( |
I feel your pain! I also dropped my Tucket off to be neutered, micro chip, and baby teeth pulled. He is 8 months old today. Hope all goes well with our little guys. I hated so bad to leave him and he was very nervous. I pick him up around 5:00. Cannot wait to get him back home |
I know how you feel! Hulk is being neutred today as well, (he's just a little over 8 mos as well!). Our vet had us bring him in last night for all the blood work and he kept him overnight to do the fasting etc etc. He's getting the surgery and two canines pulled this morning, and it's our vets practice to keep him overnight again just so he can keep an eye on him. I'm grateful for that, but it really stinks not having him around. I'm looking forward to picking him up tomorrow night. Right now I'm just waiting for the call and trying to keep myself busy at work...lol...as you can see that's going well. From what I've read around here, it seems that most of them are pretty tired the first day or two, but bounce back pretty quickly. I'm sure he'll just be happy to see his mom :) I'll be thinking of you guys! Hope it all goes well. |
All our little guys are in the same boat today! I'll be keeping Tucket and Hulk in my prayers! I'm so used to Bailey being at my feet and I thought I heard his little bell twice already.lol I'm sure he's wondering where the heck he is and if I'm coming back for him. I just can't wait to baby him when he gets home!! |

Been there done that as have we all here so we know what OP & others with babies having anesthesia today are dealing with and the little pit in your stomach that won't let you eat until you hear back from the vet! It is nerve-wracking and everybody hates these days of neuters & dentals, procedures, etc., as there is nothing that helps really until you hear they are awake & fine! Update us on that as soon as you hear. |

awwee hugs to all mommas that dropped off their babies today. I remember all to well that day with Waffles. pppft I didnt think I was going to make it! I was a basket case. She returned home majorly drugged and wanting to be held. I was sooooooo glad to have her back! |
Hulk is good! Just got the call from the vet - Hulk is doing well! He ended up having to pull 5 teeth (2 canines and 3 molars), with the exception of one canine that he had to cut into the gum because of a long root, they all came out easily. Everything's going just fine, so now I just have to be patient until I can bring him home again :thumbup: Hope everyone else's babies are all doing well. They're in our thoughts. And thanks to all the "old hands"! It means a lot to have that reassurance. It's crazy how much he means to me. The support helped me a lot :D |
Good to hear that Hulk's doing good! Poor baby's gums are probably so sore...I'm about to leave to pick up Bailey...I just can't wait to have him home and my hubby's even worse than me!! He's turned into a big old softy when it comes to Bailey. I have a folder that I keep all his records in, and it has 2 yorkies on the cover, today he said..we should have got 2 yorkies like on this folder!! lol Glad you're babies out of surgery and doing good!!! |
Prayers for all three boys today. Yorkietalkjilly said it perfectly in her post. We all worry when every our Yorkies have things done under anesthesia. I was wringing my hands, pacing and near tears when Abba had a routine dental last Fri. Thank Goodness my Vet's office ladies know me and called as soon as it was done. I still couldn't pick him up till 4 pm but, by 10 am it was over. Finally I could get some tea down and a piece of dry toast. Hugs Ladies. |
Received call from vet, and Tucket is doing well. Poor baby had to have 10 baby teeth pulled. I will pick him up a 5:00. Thanks so much for all the prayers and kind words that help to reassure me. Went to grocery and bought Frosty Paws cold treats for his gums. |

I was such a basket case when mine had to go get netured and baby teeth removed I made the hubby take him because I did not want him to blame me for taking his manhood lol BUT the after he got home part was the worse because I had to put up with this image of him standing between me and my TV that night LOL |

Sounds like all you worried moms can relax now that the babies are awake and now to just nurse them through the next couple of days they all should be fine. |
Bailey's home! He did really good. He has 2 incisions and it took a little while to find his other testicle, they said he would be in some pain today and tomorrow. He has pain medication so that's good. He just wants him momma right now. Daddy had him and he was whining for me so he's sitting here on my lap. Glad this is over and he's home.Thanks for all the good wishes for Bailey! Our three babies did good!! :) |

So glad all the boys did well, even with all the teeth pulling. I really was feeling for you all. Zack (black lab) years ago, died on the table and was brought back by the vet, during his op. (Zacks an old man now) I didn't dare say that, before your op's, but it made me, more worried, for your lads. We've never had a problem with any of our other dogs and know it is usually a simple op, that goes well more often than not. Wishing them all a fast full recovery. |
