? about holistic animal care Hi! Its been a while since I have posted. Furgie continues to have periodic stomach issues. I have been to the vet numerous times regarding her throwing up and diarrhea issues. They tell me she has a sensitive stomach...probably something she may have eaten, but no real substantial reason to why she has these issues, which I understand sometimes you might never know why... I went to a holistic animal care store today and they recommended yucca intensive drops mixed in her food. I guess this has a natural anti inflammatory effect that would be helpful for her stomach and also some abandoment drops that may help ease some anxiety when left alone, I would rub it on her ear before leaving.... wondering if anyone has any experience with either product? Thanks for the info... on a side note we were feeding her nature's variety instinct rabbit kibble before, I am currently doing boiled chicken and rice for right now and will be researching a different food for her...and I am also going to start her on a probiotic... thanks!!!! |
I would think seeing a specialist at this point may help. Have they done a biopsy of her stomach and/or intestines? Also analysis of a stool sample at the lab might help. Vomiting/ diarrhea is not normal for no reason... |

Do you mind my asking what food your dog is on and what kind of treats you give him? Does he ever get rawhide or other kinds of chews? |
Look into the remedy "Kocci Free." It worked well with Tatiana. |

Holistic abimal care store as in a holistic vet tech is the one who reccomended this? Or just an herbal shop....? I see no real evidence either suggestion is safe ir intended for dogs. Canned pumpkin is a know stabliser. Chicken and rice is the diarrhea diet my vet suggest but ONLY for 3the days. How old is your dog? Rabbit is a complex protein and it has varying effects. Have you fed a white meat kibble? My dogs eat a BaRF diet depending on your dogs age a raw diet is commonly used for people seeking a cure all for dogs with chronic stomach upset. However the cause of the upset must be determined first...if you treat for general upset when your dog could have a serious issue you may very well do more harm than good. |
what kind of diet do you have the baby on. My friend had constant issues with her yorkie until she switched to raw diet and hasn't had an issue since. I have heard of Yucca but perhaps finding an holistic vet and getting further info on it would be wise. slippery elm is great for the runs and constipation and that came straight from my vets mouth. perhaps a diet switch and adding a probiotic to create a healthy flora in the intestinal tract. Hope this helps a wee bit here are a couple of links to check out. Pet Remedies on Earth Clinic Pet Nutrition and Animal Wellness - Mercola.com Common Canine Health Problems | Dog Illnesses |
