Awww.....poor baby My little one was so miserable but now she is much better. The cat almost scratched her eye out and her anal glands needed to be expressed. She couldn't see out of one eye and her butt was hurting. I noticed she was scooting a week earlier so I asked the vet to check her anal glands while I was there. I took her to the vet yesterday and now she is feeling 100% better. Her eye will be okay fortunately it wasn't too serious. The vet give me some ointment and eye drops and she expressed her anal glands. This must of happened on Sunday because I noticed her eye swellling on Monday, but the vet was closed so had to wait until Tuesday to take her. Her eye is already starting to look better. The cat has never done anything like this before in the almost 6 years that I had both of them. She will take a swipe at Brandi every now and then but her claws are never out. So I am chalking this one up to freak accident. I've been keeping Zoey's nails clipped and I am hoping this is just a one time thing. |

Glad it was not very serious. Some animals (people too) have a reaction to cat bites, or scratches that get infected. Like an alergic reaction to cat saliva. |

I'm so glad your little one is on the mend. :) |

I'm glad to hear that Brandy is on the road to recovery. We have cats too and haven't had any issues with their claws scratching the pups. |

That has never happen before, little stinker. Of course when i got home from the vet. I immediately had a conversation with Zoey my cat trying to explain to her that we are family and we don't hurt each other like that. True to cat form she took a swat at me and walked away yawning. |

hahaha sorry thats just funny and a cat for you. i have a minx named virginia and she will swat at cedric here and there because cedric wants to play with her and she has no idea what he wants. im so glad brandi is ok. scary to think about serious damage a cat can do to a yorkie. |

Just in case this could become on ongoing problem, I have herd where just the tips of a Cat's front claws were trimmed. NOT a de-claw, but just enough to take the serious sharp point off. That might be an option here ? |

I rescued a kitten last year that was going to be run over by a truck. She is a tuxedo cat so we named her Oreo. She was raised with 6 dogs and she plays with all of them. She generally keeps her claws in and in a year has never hurt one of the dogs. They roll around the floor like a couple of fruit loops, her and Zachary mainly. She did the same with Yumble till he got to be more than twice her size. I really think she thinks she is a dog!! Thank goodness your baby is going to be OK. I always get nervous when they play with Oreo. Louise |

So glad that your babies eye was not seriously injured! Maybe you should put booties on the cat! |
