So sad to let a puppy suffer because other parts of your life change. How irresponsible can some people be? I, too, am happy that she is now with you where she is loved and being cared for properly...but sad that she has memories of being treated any other way than as the precious gift she was. I hope this was the only time she'll ever experience that side of humankind, and that she'll forever come to know that most of us would never allow her to suffer any unkindness. It's quite a 'mental whiplash' though...the difference between Dexter's condition and treatment and her's, and from the same 'family' even if not the same individuals. Hugs...:) |
What a difference a day makes... Look at the MASS of severely Matted hair my Zoey had... the Adis Clippers had a very hard time going thru it.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4199.jpg After that a good Shampoo with Isle of dogs silky shampoo and conditioner.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4202.jpg after that a good meal of Blue Buffalo Puppy kibble.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4230.jpg a short walk to happiness , like I never left my safe haven.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4234.jpg A good nap in my mama's bed.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4237.jpg and YES!! I am still here is not a dream.. I am safe now.. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...r/IMG_4229.jpg |
Carmen, I'm glad you have her back. Those mats have to pull and hurt, so I'm sure she is feeling much more comfortable now.:) |
She looks beautiful. You did a wonderful job..... |
She is such a cutie. She looks so much more relaxed |
thank you yes she is a lot happier and so Am I.. |
Carmen you are an angel!!! Thank goodness Zoey has you, I know you will rest easier knowing she is save, clean, has a full belly and a lot of love. You, in my opinion are a prime example of what a breeder should be. |
Good morning everyone, well Miss Zoey is so happy this morning , playing with her monther, rubbing all over my bed, trying to walk allover my laptop, yes she is back to being a loving , playing energetic silky girl, and yes she seem to remember everything she ran inside her mothers' crate, i used to put them to sleep in there when they were babies. she loves the cloud 9 bed, so I am ordering one for her to take home when she goes to ther new family, which is not going to be until xmas, I am having her spayed next month, she needs to gain a few pounds and get a bit stronger before I put her thru the stress of spaying.. thank you for caring and sharing with me Zoey's story.. and one more answer it took only 5 short months for my girl to get to this state of neglect. so I am telling all my new and old puppy parents about how quick your baby can go down hill if not loved the right way.. hugs, |
What a beautiful girl Carmen! I am sorry she was neglected but glad she is back in your loving care. |
It's so nice to see her enjoying being home again. Mats can be so painful to a dog. Back when I used to raise and show Himalayan cats I had to take back a cat from a woman who never combed the poor thing. He had a beautiful thick long coat that she totally neglected. It took days to get his coat fixed up from just the mats. Like you I was so happy just to have him back and be able to help him after that awful experience. He was given a home with a family member and lived a very happily ever after life. |
So glad she is happy and doing well.:) |
Oh, I love that last pic. She has the sweetest face ever! You really did a wonderful job! The difference in the look in her eyes from the earlier to the last pic is amazing. You can just see the gratitude! |
I just love the progression of the pictures you can even seen the happy gleam coming back to her eyes in the last picture. She looks so pretty in her cozy dress. I am sure she gave a contented sigh when she finally lay down to sleep last night. |
Awh she looks beautiful. Glad to gear she's eating well and all did you get in to the vet yet for a check? Doubtful she was on any paracite preventatives. |
No, she has an appt for next wenesday with Dr. Holland. I will be bringing a fecal sample too. I doubt she was given any heartworm pills . hugs |
